Well, Box Hill on Zwift kicked me in the face pretty good for at least 20 minutes and now Strava is showing an estimated FTP of 159. Seems close to the right amount of bad.
And on that note: my watts/kg is kind of sad as well, but that is highly correlated to me weighing 111 kgs at the present moment.

Oh yes, TTT would be very bad. Any kind of bike race where you're likely to be within 20' of another cyclist or riding through mud is bad news in the rain.

I just had the opportunity to use my new Crank Bros Speedier Lever and I'm pleased with the results. Of course I had to use a spritz of soapy water along with it. I don't tend to carry soapy water as part of my on board tool array. The re-seating of the second bead is like butter. Only minor thumb action required.

I was in a circuit road race back in the 80s where it drizzled all day. On one section that we rode 4x, a farmer was hauling manure and it was all over the wet road. I got a serious lung infection that kept me off of the bike for 6 weeks. Really serious.

I've lost track of the days of the week. Is today Thursday? Or Friday?

No, not big blue, but the other goliath, AT&T. After things got really unpleasant while working on my dissertation, I took a break and found a real job paying real salaries and, although I had originally intended to go back and finish my degree on the side, that became less and less attractive as time went on and thus fell by the wayside. Just as well, because I was really enjoying what I was doing in IS at NY Telephone. In fact just yesterday I read a line that perfectly described the euphoria my colleagues and I experienced in 1983 when we got our hands on the Lisa, a prototype and predecessor to Apple's Macintosh computer. The line reads "You felt as if you were part of this tiny group of people who had seen the light", that light being the graphical user interface for personal computers.
Exciting times.

My wife was a grad student at MIT during late 70s and early 80s and I remember her writing early drafts of her thesis in her apartment on a VT100 with a 1200 baud modem. It was pretty exciting when she bought a Mac in about 1984, just before finishing up. When I was in grad school, we had some kind of desktop computer in the lab, but it only spoke machine language and controlled rat experiments. I left it the hell alone and used a typewriter.
