Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Good news is that heavy rain washes the salt off the roads.

We'll get to Maymont eventually, but just LG this time around. It would be nice to get there some time in the summer - spring bulbs are always nice, but I'd like to see it during peak season when it's filled in. With free entrance because of our Arboretum membership, we'll probably visit whenever we're in VA, unless it's in the dead of winter.

The wife is trying to get her parents to go, too. During her pitch, she mentioned that there were "lots of free wheelchairs and stuff to borrow." Yeah, I don't think that had the desired affect on her grumpy pops, even though walking is a frequent complaint.

Fun cycling fact related to that garden- it was the site of the first bike club in the city:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lakeside_Wheel_Club

It's also the place where I watched the start of the team time trial for the world championships in 2015
