Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I have old fashioned oatmeal with raisins, craisins and blueberries 5 days a week. On the weekend I have eggs and occasionally pancakes/waffles. Been cutting back on the meat and milk to reduce cholesterol.

Yes, but I thought Tom designed it that way with physics in mind. Using the weight of the rider and distribution to help keep the bike together, along with the bracket.

Yeah, I think I may need to get one of those, or similar.

Maybe I could start a thread asking which quick-link tool is best? Bombproof? Most bang for buck???

Oh it works great, but I have still had the issue datlas originally posted. Worst part was on the fancy madone. Chain snapped going up my drive way causing me to slow roll over.

A tool will not correct or eliminate user error.

My issue is that I need another hand when the chain is under tension - one to hold the left side of the chain, one for the right side, and one to use the tool.

Isn't that what mrs mojo is for? I had mrs datlas hold the chain together while I stomped on the pedal to get the link to set. It worked.

I refuse to comment on the grounds that it might lead to a bloody nose.

Do what I did - make a chain holder out of coat hanger that keeps the chain together and takes the tension off the ends when you put them together.

A cyclist was killed by a car driver, last night on Canada Road, which is like the main artery for cyclists from the Northern Peninsula to get to beautiful roads in Woodside and farther South. I ride on it every single ride I do. I wasn't going to ride outside quite so soon in my recovery from Cellulitis, but I kinda feel like stopping a the site t pay respect.

Our forecast high today is 59F, which to me is just about the perfect temperature. But we do have a chance of snow later this week, so the studded tires stay on a little bit longer.

It will be 75 by this afternoon, but it was 36 when I went riding.
