Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So the crank from Colarado and the crank from The UK showed up on the same day. They're on the pourch accourding to tracking. Somebody's shipping is a little bit slow...

I'm right there with you. Fall is the trickiest time for clothing selection. Even though it's never really "cold-cold" around here, there often can be a 30 or 40 degree (F) temperature swing during a ride.

Or more. One ride I led during the autumnal equinox started at 36F and ended at 105F. Many unhappy campers on that ride.

Oh, cranksets. I thought these were grouchy visitors.

There's a brewery in Phoenix called the Pourch but oddly enough it did not have a porch, indoor drinking only.

more TT bike Thursdays, one of my easy days. 45' of z2-3 pedaling with some putzing around between my two "efforts" in the aerobars. 1 hr total.

I think it's mainly gonna be a case of manning up for me this winter. 45° used to be borderline shorts weather for me but the other day I was out in it wearing jeans, wool T, thick flannel shirt and a stocking cap. Keep in mind I was just walking, so not the apparent wind you'd find riding the bike and I was thinking I needed a thicker hat AND some gloves.

He's a big fella. The standing start part is just amazing. 10 year old record, I think.

There's a pub in Austin called The Pour House. No idea whether poor people used it; my non-poor coworkers went there.

What do poor people pour at the Pour House if the poor people pour there?

Spare wheel placed into service and converted to 11 speed and first string. New tire nestled neatly on wheel. I wonder how many watts my ultegra hub will worth?

low 50's by the time I'll ride so the awesome Marigold jacket will get its first use since late 2020.

Last Sunday, I dressed for the temperature it would reach about halfway through my ride, which made it kinda chilly riding up Crystal Springs along San Mateo Creek, lemme tell ya!

You know that riding on the aerobars doesn't make any you faster in Zwift, right?

(I know. You're practicing putting out watts in that position)
