Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ran over 11 yesterday. This morning was very much just a walk. Also some bending on the reformer.

Wow, I don't mind the occasional hoedown but they seem a little too frequent in your neck of the woods. And on a Sunday night? That ain't right.

I was surprised it went on until 12:00. The people who had bands most often were across the street but they moved out a couple weeks ago. Their bands were usually good musicians and they always stopped by 10:00. This Saturday there was another band down the street a bit and while they were loud, there was no thumping bass drum or bass. Very different and focusing on vocals, they were not disruptive and actually had an interesting sound.

When I play w my jazz group, we always stop at 9. I have gotten compliments from neighbors, even a couple who have asked to come in and hang out for a bit

Ha, thanks! But the real beast mode is my wife who's called AG around here (Atomic Girl, because she worked out at a gym called Atomic Athlete when I met her) ran a little over 20 yesterday. Hoping to BQ at the San Antonio Rock'n'Roll in a couple weeks. I'm just going to try to finish the half respectably...

Oh is that the origin story for her username? I always assumed she was a nuclear physicist or something like that.

No, EE. I have been in the house while her data (different flavor of EE) was on a call with an actual nuclear power plant diagnosing something. That was fun.

Now there's a proper looking mountain, hopefully this batch of snow doesn't melt.

Man my legs are wrecked after running up those parking garage stairs — 6 stories, X2 yesterday, X1 today.

Took Flagstaff Rd up to Gross reservoir, stopping for shots along the way. There were flurries in the air up there, I’m disappointed I didn’t make note of the altitude. Then over to NCAR and the Mesa trail for more beautiful scenery.

I think that's about 10 miles from here. 103 mph winds up there seems incredible.
