Had a lovely Christmas surprise Friday. Our 15 y/o dog would not get up for breakfast. She’d been having issues due to caudal nerve damage (occasional loss of feeling in her hind end), that we were able to control with anti-inflammatory meds. Friday, when she tried to stand up, unless we were there to help her, she’d fall over and pee all over herself. Ultimately we made the decision that it was time to say goodbye and had a service come to our house to put her to sleep. It was really hard for the girls, so they and I left while it was happening.
Really hoped she would make it to the new year. But she’s not suffering.

My group rode off while I was fumbling with my vest and I heard the moto guys talking about Yasgur's farm (Woodstock) so I said "Max, Yasgur's name is Max". Guy says if I'm old enough to know Max then I'm too old to be doing that stuff (bicycling). I agreed with him and rode off.

Sorry amigo. We def know how you feel. Mrs. Bam is still grieving Leah.

We decided a few months ago we were going to bury her in the yard, it was her favorite place to be. I dug a 5 foot deep hole back in October and we buried her there yesterday. After she passed, the vet helped my wife get her in a Euthabag and carry her out to the garage. We took some paw prints to hang in the girls’ room before we buried her.

Did breakaway intervals this morning outside. Use a stretch of the colonial parkway between Williamsburg and Jamestown. The section is the flattest section of the parkway and it’s about 7 miles long which was enough mileage for one interval set. Plus side, I did not see one car during the whole work out, downside, it was pitch black.
After a 30 min warm up. Started the first set which was 30 seconds Zone 5 followed by 10 mins zone 4 followed by 8 mins recovery repeat. First 2 sets didn’t feel bad at, the last set was appropriately hard. Glad I was able to finish, the ride home was a struggle.
