If it was me I wouldnt bother, uni is boring and you obviously is earning a good chunk of money from the custom bikes. Stick the time and money into that, at least you're guarenteed to make more money out of that. But then again why would you listen to someone who is 19? I know I sure wouldnt

Anyway I got my NI vego cookbook today, Damn vego cooking has never looked so good. The stuff looks so easy to make, sure beats trying to figure out if that steak has been on the stove for too long ;)
I dunno what to cook first. The book is seperated into different regions, I might start with the mexican food first.

Hey, I don't listen to anyone, so it doesn't matter if you're 19 or 91, and I already have a phD in Takingthepˇssouttasepposology so not gold stars there either. :D

Enjoy that NI cookbook, it's like I'm having a flashback to 1993....awwwwwww :) Is that Sweet Potato and orange dessert still in there?

bbw 05-01-06 05:48 AM

ah bugger, looks like I caught that invisible man flu. did I say something wrong?
I promise I only spelt tyres that way to get exxy onside:o

speaking of which, I lied, the gp4000 IS on the front and if you like going around corners fast I wouldn't recommend it.

the traditional inches method is just chainring divided by cog, then multiply by 27.

Eg: (53/12) x 27 = 119.2 "inches"

there's also meter roll-outs or 'development' for each gear for one rev:

Does anyone know anything about Omega bicycle frames? They specialise in Ti frames. I checked out their website and the only ozzy number is a mobile and it's disconected.

Where are they based?

Any info welcome,

thanks

Phil.

Thylacine 05-01-06 06:15 PM

I think their new number is 0425 742 427.

Oh wait, that's Thylacine Cycles, my mistake :D

I think Omega is a UK company but the frames are Chinese, as if you couldn't tell that from the price. If you want your own special piece of titanium landfill, why not go straight to the source www.xacd.com.cn and cut out the middleman?

Falls Creek/Mt Buffalo ride on 5/05 and 6/05 2006

Hi all,

Any one for morning ride to Falls Creek and Mt Buffalo on 5/05 and 6/05 (coming weekend) from Bright Victoria? This is gala festival weekend in Bright.

Cheers

I have a friend who is looking for a new bike (he lives in Melbourne). He is 46, fit, faster than me on a bike and he rides Beach road on Sundays with a pack of accountants/lawyers/doctors etc etc., but also rides to work 2 or 3 times a week. He's not poor. I think you can get the picture.

Any ways... I have been pushing him in the direction of a custom steel jobby, without going top end on components but spending a bit above the odds for the wheelset. He has come back with the Ti idea and he likes the Litespeed Firenze.

Can he get a reasonable Ti custom bike for that sort of budget? Who should I send him to? Sorry I don't know the Litespeed price, but I guess some of you do.

Phil.

A good steel frame, workhorse components and great wheels is a great idea. That's pretty much what i did with my Tephra SL.

Our custom steel frames start from 2450 and Ti from 3650. Complete bikes we can do from about 5000-5500. Get your mate to drop me an e-mail info@thylacinecycles.com or call 0425742427. My name is Warwick. *puts on imaginary name-tag*

Thanks, I have already sent him your website details so I'll update him with the extra phone numbers etc.

Yeah, steel is great (I don't want to start a steel vs. crap thread), my 22 yo steel crmo bike is goin strong, v comfy, nice 30 speed setup (I don't mind admiting to a triple).

Phil.

Don't let that stop you. This thread is about crap. Although Thylo's already done enough evangelising about frame materials to last a lifetime. ;)

Come on! It'll be fun!

I'd like a frame made of rubber chickens...
And one made of lard.
