and at richmond XC, everyone went 2 - 3 mins faster than 2 weeks ago. oh, with the notable exception of me who went out the back faster than a hooker at a celibacy convention.

just had no power :( had a GU at the start at the start of the second lap and that perked my up a bit but other than that it was all rahter diapointing . oh well, have a month till the next round there to sulk. in the meantime its off to CCCC this weekend for my 1st foray into road racing :)

still cranky tho :(

Hah! That only works if we have static IP addresses. :)

Kids doing great, eating and crapping like a racehorse. And every time you remove a nappy she goves you the golden shower, 3 in a row. Also likes crapping when the nappy is removed

Same thing happened last year, I missed the first RR and went up on the wednesday to ride race simulation (yep just like Lance ;) ) Anyways, my reco time would have won c grade, I went up there on the Saturday full of confidence and got dropped on the way back 1st lap :(
All the "big guns" turned up and almost every grade went 5 mins faster.

Thanks Climbo, you're a legend!

I generally don't give a toss about the OS, I wasted far too much time in the 90s trying to sell VMS against UNIX when open systems were the fashion. These days the OS is just a commodity like the hardware, it's the application and what you can do with the information that gets the punters excited. At the desktop end of things Microsoft have just done a really good job of tying end-user tools in tightly with their OS so you "can't do without it".

I'm with you Willie, I'd rather be repairing bikes or doing landscaping, but doing network administration and Rdb and Oracle DBA work pays much better :(

Fantastic, just spent half an hour reading the blow by blow on cyclingnews, great stuff. That was quite a time trial by the lad. He couldn't see out of one eye a couple of weeks ago? Yikes.

I am so looking forward to this Giro. Evans has got to be a favourite for this ballbusting stage.

Thats it, I'm spending the money on RAI again, and throwing a big Giro BBQ on Saturday the 13th. Darlinghurst. You're all invited.:)

pshaw 04-30-06 09:11 PM

+1,

NZ (Rotorua) gets a good write up in this months AMB.... you gonna go watch?

62vette 04-30-06 09:20 PM

Yeah, I'll probably go over to Roto Vegas to watch some of the Worlds. Downhill day should be full of high speed carnage :D

We'll probably organise an excursion with the lads for a trail ride in the morning followed by beer and spectating in the arvo.

pshaw 04-30-06 09:24 PM

ok, maybe I missed the start of that funny Jan webspace... so apologies if I sound dumb(er)

Just had a look on the official Jan homepage unsing google translate and it's a crack up!

e.g.
Yesterday after the goal entry in Porrentruy I was completely beautifully broken. I believe, each muscle did me pain. Nevertheless I felt in the best way. Because of the knee I did not feel anything.

That were my first 3.4 running kilometers in this year. Beautifully war's

62vette 04-30-06 09:33 PM

"The Jan" blog is an absolute crack up, but I gave up on it when the site tried to take me to some freakin spyware install site :crash:  I will have to go back to using Firefox for non-work stuff

Hows dynamic IPs work patty? As you know pretty much every australian is dynamic (Ip that is) unlike most of the world who use static. So wouldnt my IP be changing regularly?

62vette 04-30-06 11:02 PM

Dial up and residential broadband will generally be dynamically assigned IP addresses everywhere. Commercial high speed and broadband connections generally use fixed addresses for inbound email/web traffic etc.

Tom, do you get the hint? :D

Thanks.

Removed, I wasn't expecting a blast of nervous XP users, I guess! Sorry, all!

mrkott3r 04-30-06 11:05 PM

Yeah I know, so how does IP banning (you know the global permanent bans) work on this site is the IPs are dynamic? If you ban an IP, if its an dynamic IP can't they just wait until their IP changes. Which roughly with most providers only needs a few hours of being disconnected?

Also I guess your using tracert/ping to figure out if someone is at home or not?

masters in what? stirrin' up seppos? :D
If it was me I wouldnt bother, uni is boring and you obviously is earning a good chunk of money from the custom bikes. Stick the time and money into that, at least you're guarenteed to make more money out of that. But then again why would you listen to someone who is 19? I know I sure wouldnt

Anyway I got my NI vego cookbook today, Damn vego cooking has never looked so good. The stuff looks so easy to make, sure beats trying to figure out if that steak has been on the stove for too long ;)
I dunno what to cook first. The book is seperated into different regions, I might start with the mexican food first.
