Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikes: Thylacines...only Thylacines.

I put our demo singlespeed on ebay TWICE for a ridiculously cheap price and didn't sell it. A day later sold it privately along with some spankin' new R7 forks to go with it.

ebay.com.au is only good for chains and ****ing heart rate monitors.

I've got most of the $$ sitting here burning a hole and there's a shiny 5200 waiting at the shoppe.
dont worry mate when I was scouring ebay, most stuff was bid on late (like last couple of hours) and usually bikes went for a lot more than what they are worth. Thats why I went **** this and bought one out of the paper for a lot less than I would have paid on ebay.

Ebay = sometimes good buyer deals on parts but crap prices for bikes. (for buyers that is)

Bikes: 2006 Trek 5200, Avanti Corsa Pro, Giant Yukon, Ricardo Cro-Mo, 1992 Mongoose pro-comp, 1980 DiamondBack senior pro, 1980 Quicksilver... half a dozen other BMX bikes in various stages of completion.

hmm, I was going to take it down to the club on Saturday but didn't think anyone there'd be overly interested. There's been a few OCRs go in the last week - mostly 2s and 3s - and for more than I'm asking.

OMG, I think I've just seen the funniest thing ever.

You know the guy that does Ali G, he has a character Bruno the gay Austrian? Well, he did a show where he visited Alabama. Fark, it was so funny; he joined in in a cheerleading squad at a foodball game, interviewed one of the players post-match, and after that went to a 'Pro America' (whatevertf that is) exhibition and interviewed some rednecks there.

I have NO idea how he wasn't lynched.

Because he had a camera crew.
damn that country is famefarct. Jesus better not bother showing up again without his own cameras, or it'll be a shorter tenure than his last bat.
Hmm, maybe I need one myself to help me survive my nights out on the turps...

No. Those stats only apply to seppos

Here in Australia we prefer to die in the more mucho ways:

crashing into a tree in the V8 with a high range PCA
drowning in own vomit with high range PCA
getting skull crushed by some low idiot with a high range PCA and a penchant for the king hit
falling off a balcony/cliff/other high thing with a high range PCA
or sclerosis of the liver

Oh yeah, that beer I was rabbitn on about last week is called Tooheys Extra Dry PLATINUM.

Same clap taste, more alcohol. Fairly pointless beer at the end of the day. Anti-social enough to become popular with the little kiddies

No. I tried magnifying it but it just seemed to say something like "and slip into the hot wet bush" but that didn't make any sense

appologies to swing the topic back to cycling, but why did Mcewen drop out of the giro? was it planned with the climbing stages comming up? or did he manage to hurt himself?

decent result by Trent Lowe at the volta a catalunya, 21st overall and 2nd discovery rider. esp considering that hes stated this year is a non results oriented year due to massivley different training structures and hes just there to learn to road race....

my knowledge of it is that he does it every year once the giro gets to the mountains. He has his stage wins so drops out to prepare for the TdF. Why bother riding the mountains?
