Calling on Kotter and all closet Novocastrians who haven't bothered to post here yet: the long weekend is the perfect opportunity for some decent miles, or to help me get the last few kays done.

I'll be cruising around the Hunter Valley & Newcastle over the long weekend, so if you wanna join in then send me a PM so I can try to work out times and routes.

I'm only doing base miles so I'll be averaging a lazy 28-32kmh depending on conditions, company, and motivation.

Talk to Tony, he's got wire-ons but ordered 3 sets of the nice light ones as well. I got a set, he got a set. Theres one left with your name on them!

Another mate put cross-marks on and didnt rate them, roll nice, didnt hook up well.

i like the scorpions just fine, ranchero's only come in a 2.0, might be a bit small on the rigid. I'l try yours first.

And B.

B is for beige.
a tertiary colour,
an amalgamation of all the bright things that came before.

I like beige.
Well, more than Architects.

bbw 06-08-06 07:25 AM

While we're on A types
i'd like to add Architeks.
Also known as A'kid'nyas.
Spiky, awkward buggers

I don't hate anyone, I just love havin' a dig! :D

Fellas, here's some entertainment for the lads on this frosty Friday. Involves two of our favourite things, but mildly NSFW. Matagi, don't clink this link. :D

jock 06-08-06 04:46 PM

I'll be up in the Newcastle/Hunter Valley area over the long weekend doing some seriously long rides (at a liesurely pace TYVM). If anyone wants to join in the fun then send me a PM so I can plan times and routes.

And don't be givin me any of that "I've got homework" cheek this time Kotter!

I tell you who I hate...the ATO, cause they're current giving me an audit enima and AAMI cause they are absolutely screwing me with repairs to my car. They recently sent me a letter congratulating me on being a 10 year rating 1 with no claims in 12 years of being a customer. I gave them the car to be fixed (noting that I have a certificate from them telling me it's a no-fault claim) and they've decided to fix some of the damage caused by the accident and not others. In this case I have a small crease in a panel about 30cms directly above the area hit and because the paint hasn't cracked in the area the assessor has decided it was there before the coillision. AAMI SUCKS!!!

wtf is going on with this forum today? An entire page of posts appears to have...vanished.

Nope, it's not just you HDT.

Oop.....there it is, working again.

HobartDave 06-08-06 07:16 PM

7 weeks sinse my crash today and finally, last night, I got my bike back. :D
New frame and fork, new bar tape, and ultegra name plates still on there way.
All I can say is it's a good thing I had insurance.

Thylacine 06-08-06 07:20 PM

Hey Dave, let us know if you see a matte red-brown Thylacine scootin' around down there. Guy's name is Adam, say 'Hi' for me if you run into him. It'll spin him out. (First Thylacine in Tassie! Yay for me!)

If only it was just bloody cold. it's fark'n freezing this week. Except for today, it's 10 whole degrees already... Scorcha ;)

Nah, no records up, or down Mt Wellington on that bike. it was too new for me to have even taken it up there. Ran into the back of a station wagon. Then they took me away in a white and red wagon

Thylo, have you got any pic's of the frame, so I know what to look for?

Thylacine 06-08-06 08:39 PM

Um, it's the one with the stripes? :D

Hey dumbass, that word's not censored. :D

About that link someone posted - eeny meeny miney moe, catch a camel by the toe...

bbw 06-08-06 09:44 PM

yep forum was wierd last night.

How gorgeous was that copper 40GT? And with modern gt40 underpinnings. Absolutely spectacular.
It'd be a superfragile body though. I just did some boxgutters and downpipes in .060 copper, it's beautiful to work with but very easy to damage.

Thanks for the wickedweasel link thylo! I used to rent in Bondi and one of my flatmates and her friend Coralie (who was the kiwi chick in that latest Warnie threesome, definitely a setup) were wickedweasel fans. Always a delight to watch them parade around in it.
