Just ordered an Ultegra casette + DA chain ( they were sold out of ultegra) for farkin 100 odd bucks on PBK. the casette or chain alone would be around 80 bucks min retail, are we getting spooned by the LBS or what?

Thylacine 07-06-06 10:38 PM

Wow, I'm now up to the 2.5 hour mark talking with a potential customer on AIM/iChat. This sales crap is hard work.

62vette 07-06-06 10:52 PM

wait till you have a showroom and get time wasting tyre kickers coming in :)

bbw 07-06-06 10:53 PM

well I won't be in Melbourne this weekend now.

Just done one of the stupidest things ever.
Finished my last job yesterday, packed up the tools, walked out to the van with toolbox in one hand, ladder in the other, tied the ladder to the roof, answered a phone call... and drove off with the toolbox on the footpath. GONE
It had everything in it, 25kg, maybe $3000 worth.
Hey at least I get a long weekend. Early retirement?

Actual showroom.....virtual showroom.....same sh¡t really. I'm sure it won't change the fact that people will make appointments for WEDNESDAY and then NOT TURN UP.

I'm hoping that toolbox was insured, bbw.

Is it too early for a beer? I feel like a beer. :)

bbw 07-06-06 11:42 PM

Nope. The insurance premiums are about 10% of your tools value each year, and even then they're only covered when locked up, with signs of forced entry.

Wilchemy 07-07-06 12:05 AM

Bummer about the tools bbw. I suppose there's not much chance of a good hearted citizen handing them in to the local cop shop either....

Tiger....it's Friday arvo, of course it's not too early....

Mate, I'm sure we've all got bits and pieces lying around that would make up a full box of tools...OK Lads, I can start with a no name 12 volt cordless drill...anyone else want to kick in?

Not tuening up to appointments rips your nightie eh? I was supposed be interviewing three people for a job on Wednesday, only two turned up. No call from the no-show - WTF?

Nothing handed in at the cop shop? Can't expect that I suppose, although I did hand in a wallet and cell phone I found last weekend.

Definitely beer o'clock, or in my case Jim o'clock as there's no beer in the house.

climbo 07-07-06 12:30 AM

just to go off the subject a bit, I was looking at the tour stages I might want to stay up and watch (i.e. hills !). There are only 3 stages with Cat 1 and greater climbs (10,11 and 17). Isn't that pretty lame out of a 3 week tour? I thought there'd be more climbing than that. Then only Stages 12 and 18 have anything else worth a mention, Cat 2 climbs.

Out of 20 stage and compared to the Giro, isn't that a pissweak effort?

Ahhh, ****, I'm off for a beer and pulling out the MTB instead. :)

yeah....those were the days.

70-72kgs most of the time, 187cm. Got down to 69.5kg in Holland briefly. Had the Grant Rice stomach veins going...

But I can now press 286lb on the Hammer Stength shoulder machine for reps....so I guess that's something.

Impressive....at least on a bike riding forum, anyway. :) I would think it's not too bad on ap on a gymrat scale either...... a lot better than my old days of 150lb shoulder presses :o

Exactly....arms like Soren Lausberg, talent of Norman Gunston.

Wilchemy 07-07-06 01:23 AM

Still got the same body fat % as when you were racing?

Thylacine 07-07-06 01:26 AM

Looking for a date, Wilchemy?
