Is it an illusion, or is your steerer tube actually longer than the fork blades?

Yep illusion - although it is big. Headtube is 281mm. Although the Alpha Q Z-pro fork comes with a beefed up 450mm carbon steerer! So my one's had plenty cut off it.

And yes I'm a bit of a wind shadow

Wow, there are some great looking bikes in this thread.

I am looking into a new bike. Looks like there are a lot of experts here.

What are some of the advantages of Ti over higher end carbon frames?

Awesome....
The scary part is I am only 5' 11" - so my top tube is compressed a bit...its a 54cm ( I usually ride a 58)
But my back feels great riding...and yes..everyone loves to draft me!

Any idea what yours weighs?

Habanero Custom

I don't think the picture does it justice, but here is my new custom build. It is 18 pounds even, has a complete ultegra 6700 group. The only compromise is the 30 degree stem, the builder said I need it in order to use a standard 300mm fork steerer (the fork is all carbon Ritchey WCS).

Due to long legs and short torso, this has a 63 cm ST and a 56 cm TT.
