Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I had posted some abstract pics of this bike before, but I felt the pressure to include the 'Garage Door' shot.

Hi, you're right in that I'm Finnish but I nevertheless ordered the bottle cages (VO Moderniste) and saddle (VO Model 6) from Velo Orange.

The chrome lugs look awesome, but it's a shame the seatpost tube lugs aren't chromed.
What is it running, looks like Campagnolo Chorus?

It puts my 1986 Raleigh Marathon, and 2002 Giant OCR to shame

Thanks for the compliments.

The bike is completely new, the frame was built just a couple of months ago and the components are also unused. Unfortunately I'm not really skilled enough to do any nice restorations.

The components are mostly Centaur from 2006/2009. Record cranks and hubs, Chorus BB. 3T stem and bars.

Where did you find a Principia? I've only seen one other in the US, and that's my teammate who used to live in Denmark.

I like their bikes, if only for the rarity factor.

And only two of your pictures showed up, for some reason.

You might try chainreactioncycles.co.uk. They sell Principias and have some nice prices on past years' models.

yeah, i dont understand why the other pictures did not show up, i could not figure it out. but i actually got the bike right here in iowa. i walked into my bike shop, and it was just sitting there, so i decided i needed a new bike. i guess principia attempted to sell them in the usa, so a few select shops received some. i just happend to be in the right place at the right time.

Foo,
Not all of your picks came through. But it looks like a great set up. Love the OP/CKs they are the most bombproof wheelset on the road.

This is the stock red for the Boreas. Camera doesn't bring it out, but it is closer to a burgundy than a red.

I've been thinking about getting a frameset at some point and building it up... I recall a few times CK has said he's really into them- anyone else ridden one?
