This is my first Road Bike. It will be my project for now because i am on a really low budget. College Student haha. It has Shimano Ultegra parts for the most part. I plan on gettting a new stem, new wheels and tires, and asap a new white specialized saddle.

Wow, a K-Mart 10-speed in a girly powder blue (even in the '70s not the greatest color for a boy). Memories of mine came flooding back. '78 would've put me at 10 or 11.
Oh, the fear of managing gears and brakes with my hands for the first time. Even with small hands those extension levers could be pulled right up to the bars with only the slightest sensation of slowing from the brakes.
Straining with the rubbery shift levers (especially on hot summer days) to move the chain in that MASSive drivetrain.
Desperately trying to get my tippy-toes to the ground when coming to a stop.
The ad actually mentions "lightweight" - HA, that thing weighed at least twice what my current road bike weighs.
That boy's nice pair of slacks wont last long - that bike ate pants for breakfast.

Oh, come on,
Enough with the carbon and Dura Ace, more '78 K-mart!
So what's with the color coordination on the kid's outfit (and the CHiPs hairstyle)?

That's my favorite steel frame of all time! Unfortunately mine is in my garage with a cracked downtube.
Enjoy yours.

Fiancee wanted to try biking. So we ordered her a Trek 1.2 WSD. I picked it up yesterday without her and modified it a bit.
5 mins after I got home with it:
Put some cages and open pro/dura ace wheels I had laying around:
I decided to tear down my bike and do spring maint on it. Re-cabled it, took everything apart to clean, and re-greased everything. Since last posting it I put on deep V/DA wheels, thomson stem/post, toupe saddle, and just put on a new chain. The rest of bike is 9 speed DA. I forgot to put the seat bag on for the pic. Here it is.

well, I don't have a white garage door, so I hope a white garage wall will suffice. This is my 2003 Allez sport. Through the last few years I've replace pretty much everything but the frame, fork and stem. As it is now...
Allez Frame, Fork and Stem
Ultegra SL Shifters, Front and Rear Derailleurs, and Cassette
Ultegra Brakes
FSA Carbon Cranks and MegaExo BB
Easton EA70 wheels
Arione Saddle
LOOK KEO Sprint pedals
cheap carbon post off ebay
not the flashiest bike in the world, but she gets me from here to there.

I posted this in another thread earlier, but this is where it belongs.
Frame: circa 2000 Corima Puma
Fork: Columbus Carve
Wheels: Reynolds Attack clincher or Reynolds Stratus DV tubular (depending on mood)
Crankset: Campy Record CT
Derailleurs and Shifters: Campy Record
Headset: Campy Record
Bars: USE Atom
Stem: Rotor S1
Seatpost: Corima Ellipse
Seat: Fizik Aliante
Brakes: Mavic SSC (Record brakes turned out to be the only ones I had with the correct clearance on the front one for my track frame, so the front Record lives there now) The Mavic brakes feel the same as the Records anyway.

That Corima is outta this world.
I got another fixed gear bike. Here's the photo from today. After weeks of rain in Stumptown, Mother Nature blesses me with California weather. It's sporting the Brooks Imperial Narrow prototype saddle.

Some minor updates on my first road bike.
- Shimano Wireless computer is added.
- Fork steerer is cut off.
- Bottle cage and bottle.
I am still saving money to replace the seat post and stem.
So far, I've got around 350kms on 3 rides registered on my bike.
Edit:
And yes, the chain location is correct. I am maintaining 30kph on a 50 front and 14 rear for training.
