the picture of the bike makes it a not.

saddle/bar position is a personal thing but I dont like it in the picture either.

other than the picture, I would buy that bike from you and ride the crap out of it!!!!

Soloist - How much flex do you get in those handlebars? Have you done any real climbing with them yet? If so, did it affect your hand positioning or feel because of the flex/shape? I am very interested and looking at similar bars integrated into a stem. Just curious what the real feel difference is over different situations. Beautiful set of bars though. They look fast as hell.

Also, why don't I see them on Zipps website?
Edit: Nevermind I fond em. The VukaSprint.. Wow, very nice!

Funny thing is that the saddle is only about 2 degrees higher than level in the front. I was using a wide angle lens which distorts the angle. And it totally is Bin Laden's basement. He was planning in crashing it into something, so I took it away.

2008 R320, and no, I polished it. Took a good 30 to 40 hours of work. No maintenance whatsoever, I just windex it clean when needed, and hit it with the polish once or twice a year. The decals come off easily with goof off, however they are extemly durable, and glossy. You can get about any color you want from lynskey, along with a new head badge for $50.00. Nice if you want to change the look.

What kind of polish? So you got the brushed finish and were able to get it to this mirror like finish with polish alone?

The R320 I assume is the older version of the R340, correct?

Yes it is one year older. To polish I started with scotchbrite pad #7447 always going around the tubing in the same direction as it is brushed. Rememer when polishing that you are actually removing material, though it is a small amount. Make the groves almost non existant. Then use Mothers billet polish ( not mag and aluminum) and buff it in the same direction until your arms fall off......gloss finish!

Resubmit my 2011 Paris. The bike had been striped down until recent, completely rebuilt with Sram Red, Zip 303, 3T, Fizik. Original post can be seen at

Pinarello = very hot.

Soloist Assassin 02-02-12 08:23 PM

Solid Pinney. I'd say you were around 55deg before. Anytime you go from Shimano to Red, it is going to rate well. I give it a 100deg as it stands now. Nice improvement. However couple things. Why are the valve stems so long? If you put a neg 17deg stem, and cut the excess steerer off it would be another 20deg hotter or so.

The Pina looks like a solid ride. It'd be off the charts with some 404's or deeper...

For the heck of it...some wheels I demo'd a couple months back.

Cervelo=I'd hit it...Multiple times
Pinarello=Hot but can you get that stem with a white stripe instead of red so it flows better with that seatpost?

This was my very first tubular installation, I glued the tires on to the rims without adding the valve extenders, I didn't want to take the tires off, I tried to use the Zipp extender to pick up the tread of the tire's valve stem with no lucky, I took the wheels to my LBS, they managed to put a pair Topeak extenders on them. I will try the 17+- stem next time, the position maybe too aggressive for me.

Don't want to catch any side winds, plus I got a really good deal on this brand new 303 Firecrest set.

I was thinking the red stripes on the handlebar and stem match the red stripe of the Fizik saddle.

Agreed. He could of just posted the text "Pinarello Prince"
(without pictures) and it would've garnered an instant "Hot".

pinarello + campy = HOT, pinarello + sram = hot, pinarello + shimano = not so hot.

mazdaspeed 02-02-12 11:38 PM

Finished it. Don't mind the periscope, it will come down once my flexibility comes back a bit more. For now it's all pleasure cruise style!

Long legs, short torso?

Bike is hot, nicely done. My only niggle is the white hoods. Black would look better IMO.

WHOOOSSHHH... 02-03-12 01:37 AM

Pina is 99 degrees, add this for a perfect score....

Short femurs :D

Those hoods are on their last leg. Probably going to switch back to black...or maybe red.

S2's if that color scheme are always in the hot range for me...Love the crankset, maybe black or red hoods, and perhaps the wheels are a little busy, but then again, maybe not....HOT at any rate..:thumb:

This isn't weight weenies, if it was, it would be the "HEAVY OR NOT THREAD", it's all about the looks here....and if your worried about a few grams, and transferring to another frame then wouldn't you be rocking 3T carbon post, stem and handlebars? Interesting...:innocent:

I generally dislike Pinas but that one is stunning.
