How about the red one on this page....? The orange one you were commenting on is over the top -- in a way that I quite like, but some may not. The colnago with the chrome fork and lugs and tasteful build? Perfect.

Lots of folks would get excited about that bike.

please explain why. is because you love the looks? is it because of performance? based on looks alone (beauty in the eye of the beholder....ya ya ya ya) every one of those calnago's are hideous. I guess if your into the old classic look I can understand, but I have never been one for classic anything.

Just saw this post, which you wrote after seeing one of the bare red/chrome/white colnago frames. Do you still hate the bike that much? c0lnago's build is just beautiful. Especially so for me, who is a classic fan, but most fans of modern cf/al/etc bikes would tip their hats to this one.

Agreed. Both of my bikes are 2009 models, one carbon and one aluminum. I've never owned a steel road bike, but I can sure appreciate the beauty of the Master. A c59 with non-sloping geometry would be my ideal bike though.

i like the bike but i am not liking the red post and spacers

bianchi10 12-18-11 02:04 PM

imagining steering tube cut.......

still a not IMO. I dont like the fork, seat post or stem. All good stuff but when put together I dont think it flows well together. reminds me of a VW bug with several different colored panels.

i think the stem and fork would look fine with the matching 3t post

I'm not an oldies classic bike, classic car, classic older house, classic....anything kind of guy. I like new modern looking items. I can certainly appreciate the beauty of those classic items if they appeal to me. honestly that red with chrome bike, I wouldn't give a second look to if I walked by it in a store. Thats just me though.

Red paint and black leather- my favorite color schemes.

You had better hope Richard Thompson is not on BF :)

My rationale for the red seatpost is because everything has a red accent.

It has:
3T Funda Pro with red stripe
3T Stem with red stripe
KCNC red titanium botls
KCNC spacers (which needs to be cut)
KCNC red jockey wheels
KMC red and black chain
KCNC seat post

In close up, the red is consistent amoungts all the pieces and brings the bike together nicely, imo.

Can't say I disagree but the SLX was like a sledgehammer and the RM is like a lighter sledgehammer with a plush handle.

I hear you. The Race Master is a definite upgrade. Though the SLX looks the biz. Plus, I like the the look of the streampost seatpost.

Edit: I meant to say Race Machine.

What's "classic" on that bike?

Non-aero (OK, semi-aero) non-carbon rims. And the almost level top tube.

There is a place to play into a color theme. Yours doesn't look good. Spacers and seatpost have got to go. Here is one of my bikes with red accent:
