Agree w/ silver chain!

It'd be pretty easy to drop on a 50t/front der/shifter and not add much weight...but I don't use the bike for anything but rolling up/down Diablo and intervals by my place (Potrero) so for now I'll leave it be and just enjoy the lack of a front shift. :)

I thought that was the case but didn't recall them having an exposed lower pivot. Silly price but very cool part.

Is that a kcnc cassette?

Works fine with Campy.

Recon. I went with kcnc at first but switched to recon for an extra tooth...kcnc looks better tho.

Was it designed to work with Campy, or is it a general "10-speed derailleur?"

It's campy 9/10/11 supposedly as well as shimano 9/10...works great with campy 10. I haven't tried it on 11.

ilovecycling 12-17-11 12:27 AM

Interesting, to say the least. I was under the impression that 9/10/11 speed was not cross-compatible, especially between Shimano and Campy. Who knew?

X-LinkedRider 12-17-11 08:30 AM

Which explains the price for it...

Soloist Assassin 12-17-11 08:40 AM

Someone posted a Scott with a Lightweight RD, and AX wheels, and I didn't get a PM. Eff you all!

Nice cranks btw! ;)

With a little effort I can tune it down to 90gr

'scam artist' explains the price for it. It's ridiculous.

X-LinkedRider 12-17-11 10:41 AM

How durable are these lightweight components? There has to be some sort of strength and durability sacrifice to the weight benefits right?

I totally agree that it is basically a scam for novelty. However, In every industry there are the few and specific 'artists' that can always demand a premium. Colnago bikes aren't exactly cheap and certainly don't perform 4x better than the bike that it costs more than 4x. But they are BEAUTIFUL and works of art like anything Lightweight makes. In this case it's more than art of visuals but weight loss. Weight loss gets exponentially more expensive the closer to 0 you get. Edit: In bike terms.

Ax certainly has a rider weight limit...most of the stuff on that Scott is 75kg and 2-3 for torque.
