Sounds like you are suggesting to go back to basics.. thought i'd try the red tape since the white was impossible to keep clean :( Will probably go for black. this is what it looked like originally. Cant do anything about the groupset :(

Its amazing that without the fred'tarded TT bars, different colored bar tape and bag, it looks like a totally different bike.

I agree.

Well the name may be odd, but i love the ride and what it helps me achieve: I am new to road bikes.

I was not big on budget, was out to get $1,000 bike when i saw this CUBE $2500 retail down to Clearance of $1500. Same bike with stealth paint was 10% higher priced so i stretched to this and am i glad i did! ..I may end up with a CAAD10 by end of year though since i too am a follower of the "Cult of CAAD".

Those cubes are so hit or miss with me.

Here is my German pride and joy.
2010 CUBE AGREE SL
Full Ultegra group
Easton Vista SL wheels replaced with Easton EA 70 wheels
SYNTACE Handle and Stem replaced with Easton EA 70 bar and Deda Zero1 stem
Cube saddle swapped with Ritchie WCS Marathon
Profile Design Legacy Aero Bar for longer rides
Stock without pedals 8.1kg think i managed to lower that with wheels saddle handle bar etc.

Not likely. You threw on a heavier stem and handlebar, plus an aero bar on top of that. Wheels weigh about the same. Should throw on pedals to for a real world weight ;)

I've been curious about those frames for some time though, seeing as I can't get a Canyon over here.

Everything I've read about them has been positive. For example, review of the new version of the Agree.

Yeah that's the carbon version though, I'm looking at their alloy frames.

The Canyon is near perfect.
Rob13's TCR is very hot.
The TCR with Di2 is also hot, but not as much my color/setup preference as the other.
The Cube is hot in the picture without the add-ons. The basic form of that bike is quite attractive.
The Bianchi 928 could be hot. It's hard to tell...

So it is, hadn't actually noticed. To be honest if I lived in the US and wanted a high quality alu frame I'd just get a CAAD10.

I'm sure caads are fantastic performers, I just like to go against the grain a bit with my bike builds. I've been a little turned off by some caad owners as well which sort of instinctively makes me cringe every time I see one. Dumb I know but hey, there's lots of good alloy frames out there, I can dislike one for stupid reasons and still have plenty of other options to choose from.

adriano 03-12-12 02:18 PM

the cube is a lot better than the pinarello at least.

You could get a Spooky, or a Tsunami. Or sticking with the Germans, a Focus Culebro. I'd choose the CAAD though.

The Cube has potential. Pino on the other hand is so much over the top that I don't see much hope in it.

By this one. If you mean the Agree. I like the Stealth Black but not so much the red one. I think they are nicer frames than they look. But many would say that about the frames I ride. ;)

I <3 Robots 03-12-12 05:34 PM

I don't think the Pina looks bad at all. IMO, the graphics on the wheels kind of push it over the top. If the wheel stickers were to be removed...it would look a bit more subdued.

gadabout007 03-12-12 06:12 PM

here's the newest bike. 2012 Argon 18 Gallium... Apologies for the crappy camera skills.

thats sexy. I have never seen an argon in person. I hear great things about them! how much does that weigh (rough estimate?)

craigcraigcraig 03-12-12 06:21 PM

that BB bluster is insane. I'll say hot but with black bar tape it would look better.

gadabout007 03-12-12 06:23 PM

it's 17.3 lbs with the powertap, pedals and cages. It's a large frame, but with the bb and top tube being 5mm lower, it almost resembles a 56cm.

the guy who ran the internal wiring for the Di2 tried to convince me to go black saddle/tape
