2012 Ridley Noah Pro

http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5279/7...582c1e7e_z.jpg

I had a chance to finish the build yesterday afternoon. Took it out for a 25 mile ride and this bike was just meant to be. I didn't even have to trim the ISP, will probably add a 5mm spacer to raise it up a bit. It just feels better than my S5... quicker when off the saddle, responsive, quite possibly overall, a better bike.

Damn that is HOT.

How do you like those Q rings. Been watching the Cervelo BTP videos so now I have been brainwashed that they are amazing. Now I want to buy some.

echotraveler 04-20-12 07:15 PM

Super hot!

mbruemmer11d2 04-20-12 08:07 PM

That bike is beautiful!!!! Looks fast standing still.

plpete 04-20-12 08:19 PM

Smoking HOT Ridley! Love the subtle red accents.

Q Rings are awesome. I have them and it's one of the best upgrades I made. For me personally they are most useful when sprinting and climbing.

coolmingli 04-20-12 09:47 PM

That Ridley is super hot, too flashy!, how do you like these Oval rings?

So very hot. Possibly my next bike, thanks to you.

Let me tell you what is wrong with that bike:
NOTHING!

Leaving town with it now, but here's a quick pic just for you SA. Yes, those are the new RED brakes...

Why the microscopic stem size? It seems out of place and very small in the picture, although it can be just the way it looks in the picture.

incredibleting 04-21-12 08:56 AM

Finished this build yesterday! Can't wait to really ride it. I'm thinking of getting some bright colorful bar tape to keep it from being too black. What do you guys think?

Nice Cannondale. Leave the bar tape black. The bike is black, the tires are black, the saddle is black, the stem and post are black, the rims are black. Hum, you might want to install some black chain rings... Seriously, if there are two areas on the bike that will become black if they are not already it is the chain rings and bar tape. We use to call white bar tape, "future black".

Super nice build for sure. I actually find all of the name product placement to be a bit over the top on this bike. Loose the ENVE logos (six on each side), and even the RIDLEY name. There is too much black and white contrast for my taste, but hey, it is still a lovely bike.

primov8 04-21-12 09:14 AM

Appreicate all the feedback.

About the Q-rings, I've only ridden with them for less than 300 miles. I installed them two months ago when I built the S5 and I'll agree with plpete as I've noticed a smoother pedal stroke when climbing, especially when out of the saddle.

I see seven...

What's the weight on the Noah? Looks heavy...

Really nice - I'd give that a HOT. Do NOT put colourful tape on it! If anything I'd go for a true black tape rather than the one with silver/white bits on it, although it's not that noticeable. If you insist on changing the tape get a saddle that matches.

What are those wheels?

incredibleting 04-21-12 10:30 AM

Thanks for the input :)

The wheels are HermesSport Rituals. They're a sponsor of my college team.

HOT! I agree with everyone about keeping the black bar tape.

Just looked them up and they sound very nice, although quite expensive. Are they flexy? The weight is impressive for wider rimmed clinchers. I'm wondering if the rim is the same as the Velocity A23 or something different.

Good guess, they're actually A23 rims. The sponsor discount makes the wheels a reasonable price. Plenty stiff for me (140 lbs) with 20f/24r.

This thread still has a derth of shiny metal bits....

You know, the stuff that gleams and glistens in the sun.

I thought the same thing about the stem. I don't get it either.

It could be staged a bit better. Looks like it rolled forward a centimeter or two, and the crank isn't level. It is a really beautiful bike however. I really like the Noah FB, except it has an awful paint job. This Noah however is one of the best paint jobs on a bike I've ever seen. Huge improvement over the S5, and if I remember correctly your S5 was pretty awesome.

No, no, no...Just threw on some spare parts for you SA, since you called me out...She's getting the new Sram Red, Zipp stem and bars....give me a lttle time to fix her up. I will say one thing, this is a riding machine, stiff as any bike i've ever ridden...perfect! As of now, not ready for the HOT or NOT experts...;)
