Now that's out of the way, I would strongly suggest that you keep your public photo access separate from your personal photos. Especially those of your family. Particularly those of your children. Maybe you don't think it's a big deal. It is. |
it won't let me upload without croping

Some people wouldn't know art if it bit'm in the ass.
The composition is art. The bike is art and The photograph is art. AND there isn't a single garage door in the frame. You guys must be kidding. |

That being said, as much as a photo helps a bike be HOT-r-NOT this isn't a place to be all artistic with angles, but if you must do different shots like this at least post one good profile along with it. It doesn't show off the bike as much and is not up to BF code. (in reality who cares about BF code) BUT thats what most people around here expect to see. You say..."No white garage door". you think the reason most people place their bike in front of their door is to also show off their awesome garage door? No, it is so the background/colors do not interfere with the details/contour lines of the bike. Nobody is talking about the fact that it isn't a better than ok photo, those of us who have said it needs a better photo is because it does not show it off as well as a profile shot. Doesn't have to be propped up against a garage door, several hot bikes have been posted with other backgrounds. |

I'm into photography as well and if you want to go that direction we can. the composition of the photo is ok. The crop is to tight above the bike. I wouldn't have cropped out both the crank and the rear wheel. The photo itself works. I like how the angle of the bike helps your eye flow from left to right and seeing each detail in order, BUT THIS ISNT A PHOTOGRAPHY FORUM.

Then I stand corrected.

I still browse this thread for the nice bikes, but the idiotic comments are mind-numbing.

That is a simple not, but out of curiosity, what is that craziness below your stem? Obviously some spacers, but the huge thing under that looks bizarre.

BTW, taking pictures of your bike in front of the garage door makes for some fine examples. Nothing wrong with that, even if my opinion mattered. I just appreciate creative photography and consider the image in question exemplary.

It seems like putting spacers on top of that 3D headtube defeats the whole reason they do it. The bike either doesn't fit that well due to geometry or you need to remove the spacer and flip the stem up. Or just ride it like it was built for.
