After four months of waiting, I finally got my S5. When I get new wheels (when I can afford it, Soul C5.0), I'll post again. This is as it came from the bike store, except the ISM Adamo seat. Slightly blurred from leveling the pic. Advice to anyone wanting to buy an S5 Team Ultegra: Upgrade the crankset. Just adjusting the derailleurs and tooling around on a flat road, I had it in the highest gear...dammit. It's a 56 w/ a -6° 100mm stem, btw. :)

a bit of a better pic than the last time I posted it

NOT yet, has potential

Get rid of the wheel decals
cut the steerer
change the handle bar to shorter drop

I'm with LC. Anything bigger than a 54cm looks atrocious in an S5. That thing is freezing.

I actually don't care for it in the pic, but it is much better in person... and will look better with the right wheels.

It's not pretty to look at, but have you ever used and Adamo? I haven't had any numbness whatsoever since switching. I have one on my Madone (which I maybe should post here... it's a bit sexier).

First road build, a few more shots in Cult of CAAD.

*edited to fix worst bottle cage ever, sorry I can't fix the big ring issue though. Didn't realize it at the time.

Thanks for the suggestion.

The black seat cooler came with the bike.

Believe it or not, I have been looking for a red seat collar.

So far, I have been able to find (google), only salsa quick release type collars and I wasn't too crazy about them.

Any suggestions or sources?

Mark

Got some new pics. 2012 FD installed, and I did some tuning on the RD. RD is now down to 119g, but still plenty of room to go lighter. Also got a sweet detail pic of the stealth logo on the Berk post combo.

that's perfection right there :thumb:

i need to work on my S5, its at 16.2 and it needs to go on a diet! i'm sure the 25lb i just lost will help :D 9 pounds to go, but i'll still be too fat for this sport at 160lb!

Thanks, but not so fast. It's not done yet. I like the graphic removal result on the RD so much, I think I may have to do that to the shift levers too. Either that or it's getting 2012 Red shifters. I also think I may have to get the Beyond Black version of the stem, and move this one over to my cross bike. Probably going to get the TriRig brake for the front as well. Either that or the Scapula F aero fork.

Soloist Assassin 05-21-12 05:30 PM

Kahoon, wait just one minute! How is your bike over 3lbs heavier than mine? Are your 404s clinchers or something? I went back to look at it, and it isn't even Di2. Where did all those grams come from?

I wanna lay on top of yer bike outta respect for how hot it is! I may need to invest in Zipps! ....which is really an investment in oneself, right?

I am still on the fence about it. That fork would be pretty awesome. It would potentially get the bike down to 12.5lbs or so. It's a toss up though. The TriRig brake would be more aero, but weigh more. Then I've even thought about the hydro Red shifters when they come out, and getting the Magura hydro brakes. A friend of mine is sending me 4 TriRig brakes, and I have to resend them to him in Canada. I might have to try one out first. If they work as good as they are supposed to, I'll probably end up ordering one for the front. If I can shave some grams somewhere else and keep it sub 13lbs with the TriRig brake. That will most likely be what I do. As awesome as the Scapula F is. It has a pretty hefty price tag.

If you are a pretty girl you can lay on my bike. Otherwise that's kinda weird. As for the Zipps, whatever you have to tell yourself I suppose. Believe it or not. I got mine with very low miles used for just over a grand off of a trigeek. Gotta love those guys. I wish I would of gotten an 808 rear, and I might one day, but for the price I can't complain.

my first humble submission: 2012 Scott Foil 40 - i am not sure it is hot until I upgrade the wheels from the fulcrum racing t's (or find a white garage door!), but i think it's getting warm!

regardless, I am loving the ride!

RJM 05-22-12 08:11 AM

Nice bike eduardo76; I dig it.

WhyFi 05-22-12 08:20 AM

The Foil is hot as-is, though I think the crankset brings it down a touch. Very nice overall.

This. I don't usually like white bikes, but that is nice indeed.

I like the different colored cages. It works well with that bike. Good to see you plan to address the crankset issue, and thanks for the compliment on my S2.
