^^ Hot but I do like to see quill stems on lugged frames.

UCIMBZ 07-28-12 08:46 AM

get a powermeter! all the cool kids have em!

but i would go witha quarq personally. Not being able to see you're torque values would make me too nervous all the time.

ravenmore, that is sad and I am glad to see that you were able to sell it so quickly. Hope you're able to replace it sooner than later.

Those of you who are on FB with me already know this, but the Giant 'died' while I was getting it ready to sell. The rear cable stop for the brake cable separated from the frame. Sux but glad it did it then and not when I was bombing down some hill. I left it with the local Giant dealer to see if it is covered under warranty.

I've always liked BMC (so Hot), I bet it would look even better with a Black bottle cage next to the BMC logo.

Yes, but I thought the blue was something nice and different. Still nice though!

Silvercivic27 07-29-12 06:18 AM

SA, I can think of a couple things, since you posted up those valve stems. I was going to get the vittoria ones too, but thought they were too long, so I'm now using the gray Zipp ones. They have the lengths just right. although they may not weigh less, they would match the titanium zipp skewers in color. :)

VA_Esquire 07-29-12 06:47 AM

mm31, what are the wheels? specs?

The wheels are November RFSC 58mm with novatec hubs and cx ray spokes.

Yes this was the bike with the blue wheels and pin stripes.

Spider was heavier than advertised! 56g measured (including screws).

Good info. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I kinda like matching the red anodized bits with the Vittoria stems though.

Damn them! I'll have to weigh my other spider now, and see what the diff will be. Thanks for weighing that. You rock my friend.

I take most of my pics in front of my garage door as you guys may know. Well I took a pic today on an actual ride. So now you guys can tell I actually ride it too. It's staged poorly, and there are water bottles in my cages, the lighting sucks, but I figured I would post it here anyway. The view is pretty nice from up there.

I don't have my S2s and S5 anymore but will always be fan of this build. I'm no ww but amazing at how light you've brought this S2 down in weight.
Always HOT.

No more blue highlights on frameset that looks great to begin with.. HOT.

Soloist Assassin 07-29-12 06:30 PM

Thanks primo, and I agree with all that you have said. I really like the way the black and white on the Force crank blend with the Crankandfail's paint scheme. I don't remember it before with the blue, but it looks great now. Some black chainrings would top it off nicely.

Some changes to the Teschner. Different bars, wheels, Quarq, etc.

Edit: how do you get pictures to be full size, rather than thumbnail link style?

According to Lightning, their spider is 10g less than the Specialized carbon spider.
