I love the C59, and consider it one of my dream bikes.
I like the color scheme.
I think I'd go with solid black tires instead of the gumwalls in this instance.

Stem looks long, not sure if its an optical illusion.
I know it's "pro", but I've never been into the white bartape and saddle.

Well I finally made the plunge. Fuji did such a great job she's hot stock under the tree. Gonna convert the steel into touring/camping bike once I get used to the Fondo.

Picked up both of these this week. I know most of you wont like these, based on the dollar signs. Still worth showing off though. You gotta love the 90's candy blue with red splatter paint though.

I bought the Bike at the PX, they are a Cannondale/Trek dealer here on island. Only problem is they don't have any shop Mechanics. There are several bike stores on island, however there is a language barrier, and its expensive as hell. I wish I could have gotten a nice bike fit out of the deal, but doing my own maintenance, and bike fitting is par for the course until I get back to the states. I am also scared to have the steerer cut.

Thanks for the tips,

Yes, the housing loop for the RD. Sram likes a pretty large loop to shift best.

If you are still dialing in the fit, fair enough but this is the Hot r Not thread.

That Paramount is pretty sweet looking.

The Cannondale looks too small if set up to fit you, and the fork looks slightly bent. The Spenco grips, bar end shifters, and non-aero levers make the front end of the bike look a mess. With some work it could be a Hot though.

richpool 12-24-12 11:55 AM

I know what you are saying man, I completely agree. Over time this thing will show back up on here. Forks straight though just a weird shadow.

Nice bike. Friend of mine bought this same bike, and it looks like a sturdy, nice ride. What in the world is up with the white Bar tape, though?! There isn't any white on this frame... Just looks weird to me. Nice Lizardskin black would make it much hotter, imo.

Very nice looking and smartly speced bike. Hot.

I wouldn't kick the Firefly out of bed either, but I like the simple and understated look.

Yea, just make sure the cable comes around enough so it's totally straight before it goes into the cable stop on the RD. Yours looks like it's not quite finishing the loop by the time it gets there, going into the stop at a little bit of an angle. Sram RD cable loops have to be pretty long compared to Shimano, they look excessively long if you're not aware of that and many experienced mechanics cut the housing and cable too short for optimal shifting. It might be adequate though which means don't mess with it until you feel you need to change the cables due to old age. If you search, you might find an actual length spec for that cable housing. I've got it written down somewhere, and that length worked for meA

Although not favored on the aesthetics hotness scale, don't give the spacer stack a minute's thought, except to make sure it doesn't exceed the manufacturer's maximum spec. That is generally ~40mm from top of the head tube to the bottom of the stem - including all spacers, cone spacers included. But you should check on that.

Once you get the height dialed in and feel comfortable with it, if you haven't already found info on cutting the steer tube, just post a new thread question. It's really very, very simple the only possible problem cutting it too short. That's why whenever I cut one, I cut it too long, make sure it works at that length, and then make a second cut now knowing exactly how much I need to take off.

Thank you for your response, I will check the spacer distance. I haven't touched it, so it should be ok since it came from Cannondale that way. I plan on dropping it down quite a bit. but as you said, I don't want to go to low and make it uncomfortable. I will do it a bit at a time.

Thank you again for your time!

I´ve been looking at some of the bikes you guys have shared with us and some are really jaw dropping examples of how this is done.

I´m posting my so loved bikes, and will accept any suggestions regarding aesthetics, asides of those that could modify the fit on the bikes (If i slam the stems its gonna kill my back for sure).

Thanks id advance,

^^^ sweet bikes. Other than trimming that bit of periscope on the De Rosa, I wouldn't feel compelled to change anything.
