Very nice kyamei. Which is your favorite?

Kyamei,

Yes, all hot bikes!

Out of curiosity, do you distinguish between the types of riding you do on each bike, or do you just like having different bikes? I mean, they all seem to be set-up to do the same thing, but I'm not particularly well versed in different road disciplines; maybe the Cervelo is geared more for spring training and hills?

Just curious, and certainly I'd like to have three such handsome bikes in my stable, too! Nicely done.

With the long cage rear derailleur + large cassette on the Cervelo i would guess that's his climbing bike. Scott and willier not sure, scott has a nice cassette though, very straight :)

Didn't realize how washed out the photo would come out on the phone's camera! And the road bike is definitely not hot with mismatching everything so I will spare y'alls eyes :)

primov8 03-02-13 01:31 PM

kyamei- great looking bikes you've got there. For me, the Scott Foil is HOT.

androidtt- I'm sure the photo critics will want a better pic. Either way, HOT.

Primov8-get that De rosa up in this thread!!!!!!! LOVE those new wheels

Where is this photo taken, hots'ville USA!

PatrickGSR94 03-02-13 01:54 PM

Yeah that Spec is HOT but dang, must be pretty awful to ride in cross winds right?

*I just installed that stem on the Scott, forgot to fix the bar position before taking the pic. And yes, speed sensor erection was necessary on the Wilier.

Since you asked.

Just waiting for a Chorus 11 cassette since the Recon cassette I have doesn't fit the "universal" freehub.

Btw, props :thumb: to Nick for helping me out with my Noah Pro project. I'm sending it out next week for its custom paint job and it was Nick's photoshop that made visualizing what the finished project would be so much easier.

robbyville 03-02-13 02:04 PM

Wow, that is a sweet looking bike, has it been ridden yet (with a different cassette)?

Thanks.
I built it up towards the end of the summer as my N+1, the alternate to my Noah Pro. I use Recon cassettes because I like the gold-ceramic finish, along with KMC's X11 gold chain. But these new wheels have a "multi-sys", "universal" freehub that accepts cassettes from Campagnolo, Sram, Shimano. Since Recon designs their cassettes with additional guides to fit all the splines on Campagnolo only freehubs, it wouldn't fit the new wheels.

I was glad to help :thumb: cant wait to see it finished! That de rosa has been one of my dream bikes for several years. Love it!

Wow that was unexpected, I was expecting to get chewed out given the usual strict standards in here. Thanks for the compliments guys.

@robbyville: The drops are intentionally level and yes the Scott's position is a little off as I mentioned. Next time I have my bar's unwrapped I might try moving the shifters a little so I can tilt the bars up a touch. As for the crank position, don't think I'll ever be able to keep track of all the photography rules in here. Could've sworn I heard that they should be horizontal (was too lazy to retake the Cervelo picture...). I'll also have to look into that speed sensor magnet, thanks for the tip.

@chaadster: Short answer: N+1, I just like having different bikes. Long answer: I used to have them setup differently, but given that even the "hilly" routes here are not particularly difficult, I've developed a preference for a certain gear/group setup. The bikes that were different ended up not being riden, so to spread the love equally they all ended up the same. Cervelo (because it's the lightest) has the wifli RD + larger cassette due to a recent cycling trip which did have a rather big mountain to climb (Mauna Kea on the "Big Island" of Hawaii).

@R1lee: The wheels are all different. I recently started taking up the art of wheel building so these are my first 3 attempts. Cervelo has a ~1350g wheelset built with Kinlin XR19W rims, the Scott has Kinlin XC279 rims with a Powertap hub, and the Wilier is using Velocity A23 rims.

@bikfor: My favorite of the 3 is the Cervelo. It's also my poor attempt at a (functional) weight weenie bike at 13.5lbs.

bianchi10 03-02-13 03:27 PM

nothing to frown at with 13.5!

It's actually bad in the crosswinds because of the wheels (+ 133-136lbs). If I put the training wheels on a windy day, it actually feels less affected than the road bike. I guess that's why the engineers get paid the big bucks!

Was the visualization on the board or in pm? If on the board, could one of you link it for me? Thanks!

bianchi10 03-02-13 05:43 PM

It was a PM and i think he is wanting it to be a surprise.

cool np thanks

Hot with previously noted concerns about the brake/shift lever placement and the saddle fore and aft position. I like Lightspeeds and you've done well with this one.

All are hot with noted photo and bar position concerns (on the Scott). Key photo rules are pretty easy: valve stems at the bottom aligned vertically; crank arms aligned with chain stays or seat tube (I prefer chain stays); chain on large chain ring and smallest or smaller cogs; all brake quick releases closed. I think that covers all of the major photo faux pas. ;)

Sorry, not hot. Photo is enough for the not hot, but it looks like you could have gone a size smaller on the frame. Don't know what you look like on the bike but the saddle to handlebar relationship doesn't look like it puts you in a very aero position -- even for an Ironman distance triathlon. Also, take the bottle and saddle bag off of the bike for your next photo.

Hottest bike on here for several pages even without a cassette and chain. Note my photo comments above. What kind of handlebars are you using? I'm a little disappointed with my Deda Newton Shallow bars.

Guess he decided to not risk the embarrassment & deleted his post & attachment.

Smart decision from what I saw.

Thank you.
I'm using 3T Rotundo Pro bars on all 3.

I've got short legs... :( I'll post a race day photo with a good camera one day.

crappy basement photo but you get the idea. Constructive criticism is appreciated.
