Bros,
I'm looking for some styling advice. My new steel frame is below. Metallic Blue --> Gray fade. I'm building it with SRAM Force, 3T Pro (white stripe) fork/bars/post/stem, and de-stickered Fulcrum Racing Zero wheels. The goal was all-black components. The only aesthetic issue is headset/BB color. I'm obsessing about it, but this is the thread for it. The BB is italian threaded - SRAM's only italian BB is silver. Chris King's Silver doesn't match SRAM's silver. Chris King's Black headset wouldn't match the BB. Chris King's Blue doesn't match the blue of the frame, but it might look good. I was thinking about going with one of their Pink headsets, since two women in my life recently dealt with breast cancer, but i don't know. Any opinions? http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7135/7...d3f5a519_o.jpg If you're stuck with a silver bb don't let it dictate your other choices because, well... it's a bb. Not exactly very visible. |

Hot frame.

I have a frame with a similar color scheme, and this is the route I went (you may have seen this already from the previous pages of this thread):
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps8143eee8.jpg I think silver headset / seatpost / stem, with either a silver or black crankset, would work well. |

How about a Deda Zero100 seatpost and stem in "dark metal polish" then, with a pewter CK headset?

edit: th dark metal deda stuff and a pink headset might be cool too. I debated one on my colnago for similar reasons. |
ah yea, i get you, but:
i already have the stem and bars - 3T Pro. so i thought I could get a nice look going with all 3T pro (black with white stripe) components. also, again, CK Pewter = purple |

IMO this bike would be pretty damn hot with gold rings and tape, and black hoods. Bars are tilted pretty high, too. |

Thank you.
i would post a picture with the "old" black wheels but photobucket is down. The new silver wheels (tubular) are not laced up yet. I've been putting it off because I had a stock of clincher tires to go through. edit: photobucket is back up. Here she is with the wheel and saddle that are not on the other bike. http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...4-03183621.jpg |

^Nice pool! Where is that?
|
seriously, that pool is just badass beyond words.
|
It looks like its on some sort of rooftop.
|
What's that spaceship building under the pool?
Is that a Soul bike represented by two pixels there in the background? Hot! |
oookay I think that's been about beat to death by now. :crash:
|
Speaking of "beat to death", I fully expect to be beat to death for posting this in "Hot or Not", so do your worst.
I just finished this for my son, he's a "fixie hipster" that I'm trying to bring over to the dark side. Sooooo... is this hot in a "hipster" sort of way? http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps972c3f6c.jpg |
It is not bad, but it is not hot. You get an A+ for trying to bring him to the right side, though.
|
^That's a NOT, imo. There's nothing hot to set it apart. It's just too bland, and not bland in a 'cool' way. Also, the chain ring looks like it's a pewter color? And doesn't match anything? Or maybe that's just the light... But again, props for efforting to bring your son along with you.
Now that Tommasini has enough style points and chrome bling to make it hot, although I confess I hate the gum walls. Yuck. With some black tires or even gray and I think it would get a 'hot' from me. |

I'm gonna brave the HrN with the new bike. Just finished building it up today. Was originally going to go with black rims, but Velocity was out of black so I went with blue.
