^^Cool. Nice to see something a bit different. The paint job reminds me a bit of a Pegoretti.

Super Hot!

The artwork is very cool - if she ever wants to do this professionally, I for one will get in line.

Once again, HOT!!!

Need a better photo to get the hot status. As for the equipment I think I like everything except for the red seat post clamp and the red chain ring bolts. I also don't like the red spacer above the stem. The excess isn't really something you want to draw attention to, same goes for the red tape for the bar tape. Last thing is it looks like the bars need to be re-wrapped. Looks like you missed a little spot right around the hoods. Last nit pick, looks like the rear portion of your brake cable is a little too long.

Now please note, if this wasn't the "Hot or Not" thread I wouldn't be picking your bike apart. When you post it in this thread it pretty much comes with the territory.

So close to hot. Throw some white bar tape on there or go with black tape and saddle. Then get rid of the blue cage. I think it will be hot then. Only other thing is that crankset is far from hot. Not the end of the world though, a lot of new cranksets are just as ugly.

When I was looking int my supersix I was torn between the choice of your color frame and the black and white (Which I ended up getting). The black and white can get old and bland after a while but I just couldn't find myself liking the green and blue. I see what you were trying to do with the color combo's, but I personally ont think it works well. The blue bar tape and cage has to go (respectively IMO of course). I would go with white bar tape if you are going to keep the white saddle. Those aren't rival brake calipers are they? I think black brake calipers would look better. The green "k" series SLK crankset might go nicely with that.

OBVIOUSLY, all and any suggestions on what to buy or replace your items with to make it hot are based on my personal opinions and what your financial ability to spend extra money on your bike. I for one cant go out to buy "Hot" accessories to add to my bike just because someone suggests it.

There has only been 1 supersix in the green and blue combo I have seen that REALLY blows me away...(Yes I know it is a different year supersix with a little bit different design color wise)

hard to break out of a black n white world. I was torn on the two color models as well, but my last bike was all white frame and my classic Schwinn is matte black. I needed to add some color into my life:p. The brakes are old Dura Aces, the stock tektro brakes were a joke. Maybe I'll upgrade the cranks after my baby is born next month, but for now the jump to BB30 does the job rather well.

I usually wouldn't say this, but I think I like the blue tape and bottle cage on this particular bike. The crankset is a minus, but nonetheless I give it a HOT.

Looks like the Specialized Allez E5

Here is a quick little photoshop I did to show how I think it would look "hot"

EDIT:
The black chainrings didn't look right because I had the contrast built up way to high. dropping the contrast and making the brightness fit on the crankset makes it look like it fits now. I like the black chainring option myself after seeing this fix.

nice PS work, I'd lean to the silver rings.

jtwilson 12-02-12 10:58 PM

maybe his legs hit a huge growth spurt

jsigone 12-02-12 11:02 PM

thought it was a road bike, not a track bike LOL.

bianchi10 12-03-12 08:12 AM

If we are gonna change saddle height also, I would go something like this. (Obviously this is just for fun because if raising the saddle higher doesn't work then it doesnt work)

You know, my photoshop was purely in jest - a reference to 2ndgen and 'saddlegate' (the raising of his saddle for photo ops). Let's face it, all of us non-lanky types have felt a little bit of seatpost envy. BF takes it seriously.

maybe you need a compact geo frame to get your kicks on the seatpost length.

VA_Esquire 12-03-12 11:07 AM

I'm 5'10 and ride a 48cm frame just so I can have a huge seatpost and stem

Yeah my current ride is compact geo. The drop is not too extreme, but I still have room to slam the stem in the future if I want to get lower. It feels fine as-is.
