I had the same issue with that bike's appearance, but took the lack of a quill stem into account. Bikes with deep drop bars need a higher stem, so that stack of spacers is understandable. When you get the bars where you want them, try to find a large single spacer to replace the stack of small ones. I think it would look more gooder. ;)

DeRosa - Very sharp. Hot. Needs new bottle cage(s) though.
Pinarello - Hot. The tape is perfect. Black hoods would be better, though, IMO.
Colnago - Perfect. Nice build!

thanks-what cages do you suggest? All black carbon?

goenrdoug 04-13-16 05:51 PM

I dunno, but the the red on it looks out of place in the profile view, though, in looking at the top-down view, it looks like it works fine...

Honestly, though, it's a beautiful bike.. The bottle cage is a pretty minor thing...

My new Argon 18 Gallium Pro. If ever there was a bike that needs carbon wheels, this is it.

If by carbon wheels, you really mean solid black tires, then yes. :)

I'll probably be burned at the stake for the sacrilegious combo of Campy and Shimano components... But here we go!

The only thing burning about this bike is how hot it is. I am partial to Felt bikes, but regardless, that is HOT!

What size is your frame and how tall are you? Planning to get a C60 too.

Thanks

Good looking bike. Put that chain on the big ring next time and give it some better lighting show the details though. ;-)

Oh good call! :) Next time. I need a fresh photo with my new parts anyway. Not much changed. Just pedals and bottle cages.

Here's the one that started it all for me :) Nothing much special compared to the F1 but still ride it once a week at least.

The cages are a really nice touch. 10/10 would ride.

Crappy phone pic, but you get the main idea. Sized up one size in a swap with a friend, and I'm really enjoying how much better it looks and handles.

^ would love to see this with black tires and black cages.

cycledogg 04-15-16 01:40 PM

Like TenSpeedV2 said, upgrade the cages and get ride of the gummy tires.

theraggyone 04-15-16 01:53 PM

I love that supersix and really like it with the gumwall tyres.

I'd go with a cage that more matched the main color...like slate/grey. But yeah, get new cages.

Also, that bike is screaming for a nice set of carbon wheels. (minus the gumwalls)

Sweet bike though.

Slybry 04-15-16 02:11 PM

Agreed with theraggyone, gumwalls look great and I actually like the cages, almost looks like they aren't there at first glance. definite HOT from me :thumb:

the sci guy 04-15-16 02:33 PM

I like the gumwalls too and I think it looks better with non deep dish wheels.
Rotate your quick release levers so they line up with the fork / stays though.

Still love your bike, but miss your 3.4's :(

2016 Diamondback Podium Optum Team Frame with SRAM Force, Quarq Elsa, Mavic Cosmic 40C. I think I need an orange saddle and the bar tape is a disappointment (1500 miles, torn to ****.. Lizardskins)

Muffin Man 04-15-16 03:11 PM

I'm not crazy about any carbon cages put on the market right now and if I got new cages, I'd get king ti cages instead of the king ss I have now.

It's more aero this way :)

The 3.4s were cool, but it was always just too stressful riding them knowing that the wheels alone cost as much as the rest of the bike. Even with employee discount, enves are super super expensive. Additionally, I actually lost over 200g switching to alloy wheels, was able to afford a quarq, and ended up with enough excess money to buy another set of pedals for my track bike after selling the 3.4, so its a win win for me.
