My 2016 Fuji Roubaix Ultegra, I know it's still stock but I am saving up for new set of wheels, weighs 18.9 as is with reflectors, lights, and computer.

I'm, actually quite comfortable on the bike and am considering dropped the stem 1cm spacer to see if i'm still comfortable.

For a short time I had a 58cm Scott but sold it because I was too big.

I'm an old man and feeling good is better than looking "pro" and uncomfortable.

The Pro's ride compact cranks at times.

bj.bonnette 05-23-16 08:09 AM

they do no such thing. It would be unpro of them.

SirHustlerEsq 05-23-16 08:39 AM

Lol @ climbing crank with aero wheels.

LOL@ thinking compact cranksets are only good for climbing. Flatlanders have no need for a 53t big ring.

Everyone on BF has a top speed of 45mph, obviously.

What's the story with the 1x?

Me being cheap. I didn't have a spare front derailer laying around, so I stuck on an unused 8-speed ring with no shift gates, it holds the chain nicely. Plus I save like a quarter pound off the bike :P

1984 Trek 460 that I'm picking up this week.

The actual only new components are wheels and saddle. It does have new bar tape, chain, cables, etc. Complete rebuild. All the shiny bits have been polished.

What size should I have?

I've had 2 professional fits, one when I purchased my Madone and the second when i purchased the Emonda.

You have some serious saddle-to-bar drop already, but your seat height and stem positions are maxed out. That's why I thought a size larger might have made sense. I didn't notice the short stem and k_kibbler is right that a size larger might require an even shorter stem. If it's an H2 emonda there is not much you can do indeed.

It's a 10cm drop from saddle to bars.

It's a H2 56cm with a 90mm stem. I rode a 58 and it felt BIG.

I have long legs and a short torso.

I'm happy with the fit.

oldnslow2 - how are you liking etap? Everyone that I've talked to seems to really enjoy it.

You are joking right. 53 ring is what usually gets worn out on my chainset. "53x11 No RagretsŪ"

Yeah, spinning out in the 50x11 in the flats is such a drag. 53 is much mo better.

In a sprint situation, I am going to want the 53. Sprinting in a race I frequently find myself is 53/12 53/11.

If I am just tooting around at 16 mph then ya, no need for it. No need for carbon bike, or aero wheels either.

I like it.

It's not ground breaking but a nice luxury feature.

My previous bike has Rival 10 speed and going to Red 22 was a huge improvement. Going to eTap is nice but I could live without it if I couldn't afford it.

Don't be jealous of us He-Men getting frustrated with spinning out before we hit 50mph in the 50/11 in our sprints. The struggle is real™.

some people can spin, some can't.
