Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It wasn't all his fault. He was exposed to endless reruns of Popeye on cable as a young lad...

I'm gunna start another boring, self-indulgent thread

I bought the cheap Roselli fork for my "wet day" alu Kennedy. The fork has an alu steerer and is noticeably stiffer than the full carbon Muscle.

I was thinking of changing the forks around to have the stiff fork on the steel bike, and the flexy fork on the alu??

BOR-OR-OR-OR-OR-RING!!

might not the flexy fork feel weird on a stiff frame? might give you a noodly front end feel?

dunno, just a guess? Never had an alu frame or an all carbon fork myself. If you are used to a stiff fork, surely it'll feel sloppy initially if it is flexy. You'll probably get used to it.

Whadda you guys think of this colour?

I reckon it's hideous. I only got the other one painted white because I couldn't stand this one

E/Cr has a decent climb around the back and it gets harder every lap. I'm pretty stuffed today.
I'm not sure where that puts us in the scheme of things, probably well down the list overall (we were running midfield at 6hrs.) but I think we'll take out our club handicap.

Sounds like a fun day berny. How does it work?Like does each member of the group take their turn to ride?Is there any minimum laps or time for each member? Can you draft with other riders in the bunch?etc... This is first time I heard about this kind of ride, just wonder how it works?

I haven't been looking for v brakes on ebay for long, but they don't seem to have much. Plenty of disks. No v's.
A few of you have seen my shed. I may have some V brakes in there. I'll grab a shovel and dig for 'em.

Climbo, no map received.

More like I'm off with the fairies... But I digress. Didn't I tell you this info when I ordered? I'm useless then. Email sent (soon when I can find your address).

It was the inaugural road enduro in Oz, run by Orange Promotions who do the MTB events.
Each member takes a turn. You can bust up the 12hrs in any way you want. We did 6 x 30 min. stints each, which worked out four laps per turn.
Each team is provided with one transponder worn on your ankle. Each lap you ride over a reader which records the lap.
Drafting is legal if you can find someone running at your speed. Only riders with transponders are allowed on the track so team member drafting is out.
There were lots of entrants from all over on all manner of bikes, MTB's, recumbents, even some courier dudes on track fixies with no brakes who got pulled by the commissare (sp) and a team from Vic.

Anyone know what's happend to 'Rockmuncher'?

That's the correct one. Saccy may be able to hook us up with topo maps. We can use one of them and my GPS to map out the actual tracks at Glenrock. The pylons are numbered, and there's also numerical markers out there. I sense a long day at Glenrock coming up when it dries out a bit.

I haven't seen many if any 'Jock' posts? I mean he used to post several times every day.
He was crook and I wonder if he's gotten worse?

Search the forums for canti opinions. For stopping power, search the tandem forums. We have 203mm discs, and the other option is some Avid canti's.
