Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

who'd have thought they'd care so much about a bunch of Aussies.

Henk seems pretty genuine though, he's a top Aussie bloke.

He's a classic....he always does that huge arm reach and mouth open like a guppy thing. It was exactly the same when he won the CoreStates.

That's awesome. It's close to $50k US for the win now....biggest one day payday in cycling.

I remember Scott "The General" Steward got in the winning break in 1989 with Knickman, Kiefel, Oravetz. Reckons he was 180bpm plus the whole time while they were swapping turns....

I can find a satellite photo of my old house, but not much luck on stuff over here. On the image with the purple trails, the one that basically cuts horizontally across the image center appears to be the one we were supposed to take. The one in the lower 3rd looks more like the one we ended up on. We'll take the GPS next time, which will help pinpoint tracks if a decent map is ever located.
