Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ok, I needed the practise.........so......this is how I've ranked the columbus steels.

If they're not spot on, they're close enough

Columbus Neuron ranks in the middle somewhere, based on weight, and wall thickness.
It looks like it's got Nivacrom main tubes and Cyclex stays, with slightly thicker down tube walls than the other Nivacrom steels.

Columbus Spirit (niobium)
Columbus Life (niobium)
Columbus Ultrafoco (thermacrom)
Columbus Foco (thermacrom)
Columbus Nemo (nivacrom)
Columbus Genius (nivacrom)
Columbus Max (nivacrom)
Columbus Zona (nivacrom)
Columbus Cyber (nivacrom/cyclex)
Columbus Neuron (nivacrom/cyclex)
Columbus PRX (cyclex)
Columbus SLX (cyclex)
Columbus SL (cyclex)
Columbus SPX (cyclex)
Columbus Brain (cyclex/cro-mo)
Columbus Thron (cro-mo)
Columbus Gara (cro-mo)
Columbus Alle (cro-mo)

Is this for the Kennedy frame?

WOW, that is a lot of tubes....

No, this is not the Kennedy, it's made by Euro Racing Cycles or something like that it says. It's a nice looking bike, a fancy red, white and blue paint job on it, straight blade fork. Was only $100 so I couldn't pas it up. The Kennedy arrives today, then I'll figure out which will be my training/commuting bike.

yeah....100 bucks -- hard to resist.

the price of 2nd hand frames these days amazes me. For years and years, I never saw ANY 2nd hand frame under $400, then, about 5 years ago I discovered the 2nd hand shop down here, and I went "k-nuts" buying all sorts of cheap frames: a $100 Specialized Allez Comp, a $100 531 Paconi, a $220 Evolution (shit!), $300 Beasley SLX, $170 531 Cecil Walker, a $40 531!!!!......

I can agree that the trial outcome did not seem to be based on presumption of innocence, but what i can't understand is how she could have picked up the bodyboard off the carousel and not noticed that it was extrordinarily heavy... 4.5kg is a significant amount (about six bidons of water!!)

I don't care to guess whether she's innocent or guilty. I'm disgusted by the sloppy work of the arresting officers and the prosecution. Too many procedural errors and unanswered questions. Australia should offer Delta and Kylie to the Indonesian people in exchange for Schapelle's freedom.

..........I don't think so!. I'm staggered by the way some people just 'know' that she's innocent & that the 'evil' indonesian justice system is picking on this poor defenceless Australian. If some peckehead got caught at Tulla with 4 kgs of wacky weed, would our court system believe the defence of " No your honour, not mine, some baggage handler stuck it in my boogie board cover"....I don't think so. I don't know whether she is guilty or innocent....but a legitimate court has found her guilty...I think people should get over it....geez between kylie, Schappelle & bloody graham kennedy, the paper isn't worth reading anymore!

tandem recumbent trike? Crikey. Sounds like it might be an engineering marvel to rival Expat's now famous pull-apart titanium tandem MTB

They make a tandem where the stoker is upright in the back, and the captain is recumbent up front. While this theoretically means they can have a quick pash or snog or whatever you guys call a kiss, it also means that SHE can shift/brake/steer. Not in my lifetime, thank you.

Ignorance is a wonderful thing. I notice you're taking advantage of the unfortunate, Expat.

One of the most prolific builders of tandem recumbent trikes is in Australia. Tandem trikes aren't unusual. There were two different varieties I saw on PBP. An upright version and a recumbent. Tandem recumbent trikes have been on extended tours around Australia and across America.

It's all right, Expat. It's just me being belligerent. Sorry jock. <shrug>

You want pix, I got pix if vipes doesn't.

I let the missus sit up front when we broke the timing chain. I pedalled from the back, while she did all the captain stuff. We both agreed that will never happen again.

Yeah, but why. Because of the weight factor... or skill?

A bit of both. She's kind of on the petite side to be steering a 200LB ****** like myself. Nor whould she want to have to try to stop it quickly, 203mm discs and all. She does really good on her full suspension bike though.

I might need one of those some day. Do you have a set of plans? And can I borrow your welder?
