Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hey MTB-heads, didya see the MANTOU 2000SX FFORKS for $100. Almost a bargain at that price, but only 80mm travel.

who needs suspension

sounds like it was cut for a small bike too, that's why it's so cheap.

Bikes: 8 bikes - one for each day of the week!

It was 7 INSIDE my house last weekend. INSIDE!

[edit] Stare at that word long enough, and it doesn't look right.

$1000 light? Ouch. I'll stick with my heavy halogen junk.

... and yeah it was pretty warm across Berowra this morning. Prolly 3 or 4. Last week I had the wierdest experience after climbing out of Mooney Ck. It was like the cold was squeezing me. Never felt anything like it before.

Maybe this is why the aussie team has been a bit off-colour recently

It's always amusing when you guys whinge about the cold. Where all set for a lovely 3 degrees over night for the next couple of nights. And it hasn't started to get cold yet

Aussies for TDF. The possibles and probables list:

• Baden Cooke (fdjeux.com)
• Bradley McGee (fdjeux.com)
• Matthew Wilson (fdjeux.com)
• Stuart O'Grady (Cofidis)
• Matthew White (Cofidis)
• Michael Rogers (Quick Step-Davitamon)
• Allan Davis (Liberty Seguros)
• Scott Sunderland (Alessio-Bianchi)
• Robbie McEwen (Lotto-Domo)
• Nick Gates (Lotto-Domo)
• Cadel Evans (Lotto-Domo)

and maybe Luke Roberts (CSC)

Will Rogers push hard now that he's on the way to T-Mobile? Will Boonen let him?
How many successful 200km breaks will Stuey be in this year?
Will it be a McEwen, Cooke and Pettachi battle for green with Zabel out?
Is this the year that Cadel Evans emerges from the pack?
Will Matty White make it to the first stage?

I guess so, now that I have the day sorted out. Damn, I would have been a sure-fire winner if I had of started on Saturday as planned

It's worked out well because the missus wants me to ruin my Saturday afternoon by dropping my daughter off at some birthday party. How inconsiderate. No consultation, just "you're doing this instead of what you normally do". The hide of some ppl.

You riding up?

nah, if anything I'm driving up, I may not be riding at all, baby duties, wife may be working...

I'm going to at least try to scout a possible location for the CX race up there.

Will Rogers push hard now that he's on the way to T-Mobile? Will Boonen let him? - Anyones guess.
How many successful 200km breaks will Stuey be in this year? - Keeping with tradition.....none.
Will it be a McEwen, Cooke and Pettachi battle for green with Zabel out? - Me thinks it'll be more mixed this year.
Is this the year that Cadel Evans emerges from the pack? - No, he'll break his other collarbone. Twice.
Will Matty White make it to the first stage? - Yes, he's had a year to practice not falling off.
