yeah, the old guy was a cracker. I wonder how long he's been doing that.

*laugh* Can somebody tell me - What IS the cubic metreage of McEwans ego? There was an interview with him yesterday where he basically said that without Petacchi and Zabel there, he's the only 'first tier' sprinter in the TdF this year.....then Boonen blows his doors off in the second stage!
Gotta confess, I had a good chuckle about that. I watched the first stage live as I was just p¡ssed enough to be able to comandeer the TV remote at a party I was at, and everyone else was too p¡ssed to complain. The highlight for me was trying to explain to a very, very drunk friend how the Tour works.... Me - "Well, after the first stage, if you're 40 seconds ahead of everyone else then you win that day's stage, but after 21 days of racing, the guy who finishes the entire 3000 odd kms the fastest wins overall" Friend - "Huh?" |
I thought McEwen said something like: "it doesn't matter if Petacchi's not there because there's plenty of others that will step up, such as Boonen, Hushovd, etc....
but I admit I didn't watch that whole interview because I can only take Mike Tomilaris in small doses. |

so, are all you guys staying up to watch the end of every stage?

Negative. I'm ratsh*t already after only one night!! |
If I were you I'd tape it and watch the last 10 minutes when I got up.
The only problem is that if McEwen (I can never spell his name) wins the stage, it's all over the news, and therefore hard to avoid |

it does put a bit of reality in to what can happen but honestly, it doesn't happen that often. And you can use your own skill and judgement most of the time to avoid this sort of stuff. |

First time I've watched the TdF over the last 2 nights. Think I'm starting to get hooked. Phil and his mate sure do a good job of making something that's really quite boring seem exciting. That and I love the French countryside.
That's all fro mthe nob that's come in late. :p |

On a cycling note (heaven forbid). Ed, you've mentioned Cytomax as the drink of choice, do you know where you can get it without paying a fortune? Cheers, Dave |

All those friggen drinks are. Maxim might be a bit cheaper....that's pretty good. I think Boardman used it when he was racing. Extran is my very favourite, both the powder and the little squeezy rectangles. |
