Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikes: 8 bikes - one for each day of the week!

I still find it odd that this thread closes for the weekend.

Just watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre with the family. I could use a drink or two.

I passed a Black Magna tonite on the way home, number plate BLE 55U.

Now I'm not religious or anything, but it seemed such a nice thing to see. Some weirdo saying "I've got a bunch of niceness in me, take a little bit if you want".

Should be more of it instead of "I am the greatest", "Me, me, ME", or "Underlings must die!"

Or maybe the guy's a real turd and doesn't realize what his default number plate means! ROFLMAO

After a deafeningly silent pause of about 10 hours, Rockmuncher finally gets the joke and guffaws loudly and obnoxiously.

Anyone race on the weekend?
The corporate sprint Tri in Sydney was organized chaos,
4500 entrants, ~120 people set off 5 mins apart for 3 hours.
Swim leg was unreal, no actual swimming done, just climbed over the bodies.
Bike leg was anything from penny farthings at 0.1KPH to all CF affairs travelling at speed.
I had a dream last night and woke up in a sweat shouting KEEP LEFFFFFTTT before I was impaled on a set of 6" sharpened cow horns on pink K-mart MTB.
Oh & the run leg topped it off nicely.

Now I've experienced it, think I'll stick with the bike. What was I thinking?

Sounds like fun! I "raced" at Calga and did nothing. 4th or 5th. Two broke away and noone could be bothered chasing them. Stupid me was waiting for a local to show me when to start sprinting for 3rd. Apparently they already were!! Rolled across the line feeling like a complete dork. Coulda, Shoulda, Didn't!

how's that for justification
Capt'n Spalding hits the big time ay? Where are you getting these things from? Gettin' a good deal?

That's the good thing about Shimano.....they go beyond 175.

I'm getting a reasonable deal from me mate at Bicycle Recycle.
How much can you get 'em for?

I think Record are also available in 180mm. I'd definitely be on them if I was 6'4"....obviously...maybe longer. Although, with your big hoofers, you'd be "heeling" the rear derailleur, no doubt, or at least the chain stays.

do you just get your info off the web?

I used to watch SBS sport, but it ain't worth it sitting through the whole show to maybe get 20 seconds of cycling.

The pace was slow, like they all had Mandrax for breakfast. Fastest I went was chasing the break up a hill! A guy called Charlie won, if that's any help. https://www.hunterdistrict.com/april_2005.htm

Not sure, I think arround US$280-300 maybe? There's no Campy cranks longer than 175. No FSA.....Truvativ....Shimano.......nuffin'. It's one of the reasons I run Dura-Ace and not Chorus, as much as I'd like to give Campy a go. Chainstays are 425mm, so I got no probs with longer cranks.
