Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Not me, busy that weekend anyway.

New or used? The Avanti track bike is only $1,100 new.

have been thinking of going to check it out. wont be racing but i think it would be interesting to watch. there will be lots of different team strategies going on. should make for intereesting viewing from turn 2 especially if a big pack decides they want to go in there togeather....

Very cute Thylacine, but a nice gesture all the same.

Mebee we could petition the powers that be to change the name from Giro D'Italia to Giro D'Aussie!

I often wonder if guys like McEwan would prefer to blend into the peleton by
wearing a normal team jersey instead of a shirt that stands out so much. I'm
sure there would be times he'd like to hide in the bunch, but how can he in this gear?
There must be brief moments in a race when he's not sure which Fassa rider is Pettachi

But I s'pose green stands out more, and I'm sure he loves wearing that

When Stevo was aussie road champ in the mid-90s, festina wouldn't let him get a national strip. Didn't mean anything in Spain and the sponsor was more important.

I reckon these guys know each other so well, McEwen could wear the Discovery Channel strip and Petacchi, Kirsipuu, O'Grady, Zabel, Cooke, etc etc would all know EXACTLY where he was.

New or used, either would be OK as long as it was in reasonable nic. I looked at the Avanti, could be the go if I can't find a cheaper s/h thing.

That's fine. I'll be bringing your bike parts. If the handlebars poking out of my backpack looks like a shotgun, don't worry, I'm American. Speaking of which, I'll meet you guys half way on this pink thing. I won't change my avatar to an American flag.

All of you guys having matching avatars make it very confusing. Are you doing this to hide your WMDs?
