Why does McEwen piss off so many people?
I really don't see this "huge ego" thing. Every time he's intervied he's very measured.
I'm sure he has an ego, but he ain't exactly over the top.

Bernucci pulls a "Bradbury"
Grouse finish!
Stacks of dudes stack in the wet on the last corner, and this relative unknown
stays upright to take the win with Vinokourov breathing down his neck (out of frame).
For a couple of minutes, Liggett and Sherwin didn't even know who he was
Mengin was leading for a bazillion miles, and looked like he was gunna steal a podium pozzy from the sprinters, but he was the first to crash.

Mengin, unlucky... and P&P were only just boasting about his cyclo-cross skills making for a great bike handler in these conditions.
Nice to see Robbie and Tom chatting it up like good mates on the way in.

I know a guy who trains as a power lifter, and occasionally competes in the under 90kg class.
Shortly after starting to ride to work 3 times a week (only from Glen Iris to the city), he added 2 reps to most of his heavy leg exercises!!
he can't understand it either

375lbs squats???!!!!!
I used to blow a colon doing 200!! I quit legs after 3 months; too much hard work.
nothing harder than squats -- maybe running maximum 400m efforts

That's nothing. Rousseau could max on 650lb.

I can remember an article where Arnie is talking about his puny calves and he was using 250lbs on the calf raise machine... he trained with reg park who was using 1000lbs or something ridiculous... within 1 month Arnie was up there.....

AS always had an issue with his calves. A lot of his early posing photos have him standing in water or long grass.
But doing donkey raises with Dave Draper and Lou Ferrigno sitting on your back will fix that....
