Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A coupla coasties made it down to Homebush last night. Worst night of the year with some religious thing on at the stadium. Morons everywhere.

(young) Lawrence somehow ended up riding in the C group when he should have been driving the A group. I bet there were plenty of grimaces each time he hit the front.

Hey Paul, why don't you bring your purty blue bike down tonite for puke... I mean sprint training instead of doing that silly MTB ride.

Didn't feel like joining Hillsong, mate?? Think of all that money you could be spending on bikes going to the church instead.

Bikes: Thylacines...only Thylacines.

I tried to stay up but failed dismally.

Pretty good pick by me though I gotta say, although without the crash CSC woulda stormed home I'm guessing, considering it was a 2 second margin.

Homebush on the roads (bring your blinkies). It's run by turramurra cyclery. 7:00pm at the train station carpark. Paceline + 800m leadout sprints. Very painful on a tough nite. https://www.turramurracyclery.com.au/...30&idb=Regular

As for Origin night, well there's always videotape

I can't be bothered reading all the race reports.
I take it Zabriskie isn't badly injured?

Few stiches....bruised ribs, lost some bark, sleepless night. X-rays OK.

I've said this before, but a few years ago he was doing daily radio reports for 3aw with
David Hookes and Gerald Healy, and every time they tried to crack a gag with Mikey, they
got a, "er....what?" response from him.

He was either too witless to get it, or took himself so seriously that his "h@rdcore" race reports
dare not be interupted with any "fun"

Used to be good for a bit of a giggle but he's taking himself far to seriously now. Those chats with Phil make me cringe. Phil too I expect.
