Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Not sure yet. It would be more like $4/hr more.

That is serious dough for a bike shop....hell 4 dollars an hour is serious money for just about any one, about 8k a year. Don't look back, he has been around since the 80s, you leaving won't close the place down.

Pcad my new bike has been shipped as well. Who will get theirs first coasting or myself? WHose bike will be nicer?

The Ibis Ti is the rain/snow/sloppy road bike (it's 15 years old and probably indestructible anyway, as well as somewhat expendable at this point, even though I'll probably never be able to kill it). The Scott is the main training bike, but it's becoming the bike of choice for any hilly event (i.e. hill climb TT this weekend). Great climber. The Cervelo is the bike for racing and competitive group rides like Nyack, and some training. The TT bike is for racing and some training.

In other words it's Pcad Whim based. God what a dopey question.

man, you gotta understand. we grow resigned. this is philly sports team we're talking about. no championships since 1959? no problem

though it's okay, it gets boring winning something like 14 out of the last 20 matches. you can have a consolation prize, dallas?

man, it's only late april and i'm psyched for football already. although this year, i'm trying to become a cycling snob & watch more cycling races than football games

I hate the Phillies, but not as much as I hate hockey, Nascar, the WWF, Rush Limbaugh and some of the jerkwads in this idiot sport.

I have given up on Facebook. The interface is utterly unfathomable. I'm sure Yahoo and/or Microsoft are involved somehow.

The new deck furniture looks great. Once it's all stained (next week): photos.

The elite snobbery of the 33 borders on buffoonery.

The Mets went 9-1 on their just completed home stand. They've only done that twice before in their entire history. And now they're in sole possession of first place in the NL East. We'll see if that survives a 3 game trip to Philadelphia this weekend. Hey, beats losing every friggin night. I'm a Mets fan, I take what this crappy team gives me.

Oh, by the way, the little inventors are starting to patent their whacky inventions again. That's the surest sign the recession really is ending.

I know you can't disclose what they are, but on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being not wacky at all, and 10 being super wacky - what are they like?

Most are deeply flawed (not thought all the way through), some are brilliant, you know, just what you would expect.

Let's face it. They're no St Louis Cardinals.

There's no escaping the gravitational pull of the NFL from August thru February . . . . it's hopeless.
