Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I had dominos tonight. I'm forcing myself to go on a 6 am ride tomorrow. I say that now, but I've been setting my alarm for that for the past month. Everyday I turn it off when it goes off.

Where are you going? And although i have a personal bias towards engineering, I'll point out that a lot of electrical engineering firms seem to hire physics majors, it's probably more broad than some of the more specialized engineerings.

Edit: Are you even a senior?

I'll ask here too.

Do junior race registrations (cat 5 is full, but I can still sign up in 14-18) count towards upgrade to cat 4?

maybe 40 minutes? all the hard stuff was already together (fork, crank, etc,) 10 min to unpack 20 min to put together (wheels on,, seat on, handlebars on, pedals on) 10 minutes to adjust to "close enough" to ride. Competative cyclist offers a "ready to ride" option for about $100 more that due to dimensions must come on a 18 wheeler UPS truck. I can't imagine a more terrible way to waste $100.

Younger guys, Do the engineering thing it is worth it. CHE if possible.

Nick Drake killed himself in 1974. He was an obscure folksy Brit pop non-star. Then Volkswagen used his song 'Pink Moon' in a commercial in 2000. After which Nick Drake sold more albums than he had in the 26 years since his death in about a year. His haunting music is now on a new AT&T spot. It's a shame such beautiful music is used in such a blatantly commercial manner, but whatever turns Mr. Drake on to more people. Check him out you friggin pathetic weenies.

One good thing about the flood is that it has hit Titans stadium. Hopefully they'll take a wrecking ball to that thing and move far away.

Meanwhile I saw CNN had a reporter stationed live (after dark) at the junkyard where failed car bomb got its stolen license plate.

The idiocy boggles the mind.

The Garden State soundtrack didn't hurt his popularity, either. Great stuff.

CHE - Chemical Engineering
ME - Mechanical Engineering
CE- Civil Engineering
BME/BE - Biomedical/Bioenineering
EE/ECE - Electrical/ Electrical and Computer Engineering (sometimes Computer is by itself)
Optics (only some schools)

^^
I count as real engineering...they have crap like envirormental engineering too, but it is just stuff a CHE could do better.

Whatever you do don't major in history and english

I have two of his albums, they are like nothing else I've ever heard. Man he was great. Surprising he didn't get more notice 35+ years ago while he was alive. Hell, I was only 16 when he died.
