Love both bikes, very happy with the Cervelo and the Scott. They both work fine for me. I'll be riding the Cervelo more soon.

So should I get a Specialized Tricross Comp (aluminum/carbon, 105, roval wheels) or a Trek XO (105, aluminum frame, bontrager wheels) cyclocross bike for race season? They're both nice, but I've never wanted a Trek really. I don't know why, just something about them. It's about $200 less though, there's the thing.

25k miles on the S2 is pretty impressive.
You did a great job of proclaiming the S2 as the greatest bike on the earth. A curious question (that is not intended to sound overly critical, but there's no other way to ask it) - did you think your Cannondale was the greatest bike on the earth before the S2?
Bike technology improves and you put a lot of miles on your bike, so it's plausible. You seemed like a Cervelo for life person.

Intuit software engineers smoked crack before they came to work and then spent the day with hookers instead of actually writing $hit. Seriously. Quicken '09 is an SA's nightmare - it doesn't play friendly across networks and the internal backup is so f'ed up it's not worth using.

I actually like the look of the Trek a lot - maybe even more than the Specialized. I guess I'd be silly to not get it for the name - they're all the same anyway.

The more high end bikes I get familiar with, the more true the 'once you get over three grand none of it sucks' mantra seems to be.

Cervelo for life? Hardly. Whatever works. But at this point I'm probably set for 4-5 years.

I've really heard one detonating Trek story after another (local anecdotes plus on the web). I saw one that suffered a cracked rear stay from a relatively minor impact in a race in Brooklyn. The owner really couldn't believe his bike had detonated over that.

I doubt it.
I appreciate your thoughts on the Addict, but I'm not convinced. I think the Cervelo is the way to go.
Much more importantly, what's your Stanley Cup prediction? Stan Mikita is ready is crush your nuts if you answer incorrectly.

Flyers!
Pcad, I (my wife) purchased the 3i touring it is the loaded sedan with the 2.0 engine 24/33 mpg I liked the hatch with the 2.5, but she commutes 45ish miles each way and doesn't care too much about engine HP (thought even she didn't like the sluggish sentra)
It really is head and shoulders above the rest of the compact (these are actually pretty big they would have been midsize sedans 10 years ago)/economy car segment. tons of features standard and the touring is filled to the gills. We tried out the honda insight, nissan sentra, ford focus, VW jetta etc. The jetta was very nice inside, but more expensive and not at 0% financing the rest just felt cheap.
Thank God my credit is good. At one point I had not devloped enough credit and was quoted a 8.9% car loan through honda. 2 years later and my lowest of the 3 scores is 767. I can't imagine how living with crappy credit is. It just keeps you in a hole.

The Bulls might get Bron, the Hawks are in the Cup finals, Urlacher is healthy, and we have Julius Peppers. If that makes me a loser, so be it.

Good grief, what happened to Christina Aguilera?
Time to hang it up, if that's what you've been reduced to.

Please understand that my ultimate fantasy is that the NY Rangers, NJ Devils and NY Islanders team planes have a mid air collision and the flaming wreckage falls into Yankee Stadium during home team batting practice.

Yeah the S2 is really a better balanced bike. Stiff, very comfy ride, aero, reasonably light. But the Addict is stiffer, a bit lighter, and I just love the way the bike feels and particularly how it climbs. Amazing climber. Beats me up a bit after 4-5 hours on a rough road, but I don't do too many rides like that. Hell, rode it 5+ hours last Saturday and it was fine. And even though it beat me up a bit on a rough stretch of road in hour 5, it was great having it for that last nasty two mile climb @ mile 70.
Love both bikes, very happy with the Cervelo and the Scott. They both work fine for me. I'll be riding the Cervelo more soon.
