Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You know pCad, when you get skinny and still suck, you will have one less excuse. Hell, with your baggy pants and half your teeth, you are only a tin cup away from a new career.

Anyone who thinks I'll ever run out of excuses doesn't know me very well.

Hey Gomer there's a new show called 'Dance Your Ass Off'. Fat people go and dance to lose weight. It's like a cross between 'So You Think You Can Dance' and 'Biggest Loser'.

I think this show is for you.

My fancy pant's new Castelli jersey tried to remove my nipples.

Maybe that's why they use a scorpion as a logo.

I don't watch either of those shows. If I'm going to watch anyone dance, it's going to be hot skinny people.

I agree. Course, the wife was the first clue. "What are you, down to like 150 or so?"

I've never seen biggest loser but I sure liked Fat Club. Celebrity Fat Club was a bit much though.

The surest sign of the Apocalypse is the awarding of the Super Bowl to NJ in 2014. Don't worry, the world will end before you ever see that event go off. I drove past the new Meadowlands Stadium today. In front of it is the ugliest building in the history of architecture.

It's 93F outside right now. I hope another stupid thunderstorm doesn't mess up the evening.

Hey coasting,

When was the last time you did a ride over 80F, you limey softie?

Can't you convert that before you post? 27c...that's easy. 2 weekends ago. It doesn't happen often but when it does I draw on all my inner strength to pull through. Next challenge?

By the way, I've never been to New Jersey but New Yorkers like to abuse it. Is it like the armpit of the East coast?

I had no idea that the Meadowlands looked so homely.

Meadowlands, only thing worse than going to a Mets game is a Nets game...

Some parts of NJ are really nice, Meadowlands isn't one of them, neither is Newark.

And there's really not much difference between New York and New Jersey. Everything from Philly to Boston is an armpit.

Actually the NJ Meadowlands contains stunning beauty and wildlife. in between the industrial wastelands that surround it. One of the largest tidal estuaries in the world.
