What, it finally cracked 60F in New York?

Crazy weather in the mid state. Fortunately we've been spared almost all of it in K-Town (so far). Thanks for your concern.

It's 90º here now.

We got a new Weber grill. The old one was 14 years old and didn't owe us anything.

Matches the deck furniture.

Very nice. I picked up one of those this weekend too.

Top rated by Consumer Reports.

First real ride this season. Recovering from leg trauma -- fell down stairs.

Ouch. Very slow.

Some old fat golfer congratulated me on climbing the first hill of my ride. I think I could have walked it faster.

The good part of the ride... the new Time iClics worked really well.

Midget. I forgot you were a violin master...your test are almost as much a formality as they are for D1 football players. (assuming you are good)

and sorry I forgot mzeffex. Where were you lokking to go mike?

Yea, the 1970 is out of 2400. I'll have to look and see what I got on the writing to convert it to the old score. I've taken Calc AB and BC, but my standardized math scores are always below all my other disciplines.

I didn't send my SATs to most of the schools I applied to, I just sent the ACT score.

Anyone ridden the Battenkill route?

I've been thinking about riding it with a friend...

I've ridden it 3 times. It is a tough course. If you're looking for a nice relaxing ride through some beautiful country side, this isn't it. there are 17-20% grades all over the place, most of them on dirt. If you and you're friend are ready for a really hard ride that is probably more unique (dirt sections, middle of absolute nowhere) than anything you will ever ride, then hell yea it is a lot of fun. Just make sure you bring a pump 2-3 tubes and have a backup plan incase something goes wrong. There are some nasty potholes in the dirt, but other than that most of the dirt is better than the pavement haha.

On the Nyack Ride today we had Roger Aspholm and his Finnkraft boys, and an actual pro from Rock Racing. It was pretty fast. Me and Unckie Don peeled off after the Col Du Blue Hill and slogged back to Wyckoff. 55 miles in the heat. Good workout.

What's so funny? He was a Rock Racing pro.

At this point, rock racing is little more than an elite team.

So we have french penpals at school. My friend actually had his send him a friend request. Attractive girl.

I searched for mine. He's a shirtless spiky haired blonde guy with a cigarette behind his ear.

I'm not certain how fast I'll receive them - I took it yesterday, so I'll probably receive something in July (that's how it was for my PSAT scores) I'm shooting for at least a 1600. That's all I need to get into Rice, who is the most choosy of conservatories that I'm looking at.

I'd forgotten they added writing for a second, slight confusion when i read at least 1600.

yo pcad,

i think i saw one of your teammates this morning at Nyack. he was on a Giant TCR. didn't see anyone else on a brauer-mick kit, so i assume you have left by then (around 10:20 ish). this rock racing guy, was he on a De Rosa Rock Racing frame? If so, i think we actually rode back with him back to the GWB. The high-speed paceline was fun, though i'd preferred something less intensive as i rode up to Bear Mountain yesterday. The hammerheads on the way back were a bit ridiculous though, with some attacks going on... on the way back, we actually wondered what the rock racing dude's deal was, seeing that wearing their kit would be no better than wearing saunier-duval kit

Rock racing? I thought they went under? Did you ask him about a "training program" to help you with your hill climb

Velo Vol 05-02-10 04:07 PM

Nashville has broken its record for wettest May ever.

It's May 2.

80 Miles today. vicious headwind on the outbound leg 15 - 20mph, a little rain. AWSOME RIDE! Legs are starting to come back from wherever they go to in the off season. SUNBURN!!! GOD I hate winter. at about 50 miles I spied a roadie in kit sprinting to catch me so I slowed down. He said " how you doin" as he passed me. A couple of seconds later at 26 mph I pulled next to him and said " not to bad, hows your day goin?" you would have thought I had grown a second head! talk about suprised. how did the old fat guy catch me? Priceless. Now I am so toasted I can hardly type.( or abuse the keyboard the way I do)
