back to cycling. pcad, how many cm of spacers do you have under your stem. I don't mean it as a peeing contest, just that I'm fiddling with mine.

Velo Vol 05-06-10 10:33 AM

Hey coasting,

Who did you vote for today? And why does the UK need 600 MPs? We have fewer than that for 300 million people.

That Cameron's a real charmer.

Oh, and how many spacers pcad or anyone else has won't really help you so just remove one and see how it feels.

I get ya. But I was just curious if I am normal. I have it exactly where I want it. just wondered if I should fix it with the fork cut or leave some scope for raising it.

If you're not running any spacers and are comfortable in that position then you can opt to cut the remaining section of steerer tube but if you're experimenting then don't cut anything.

Here's an actual on-topic link regarding addiction.

Using the criteria, I judge cycling to be a healthy addiction. But the endemic schwagism that pervades this site is an unhealthy addiction.

If I lived in Gomer Gulch, I would also be more fearful of tornados than terrorists. Particularly if I lived in a trailer park.

i agree. I'm fed up. I spent a couple of hours fiddling with the bike and next time I'm letting the shop do it. It started off fun like a new project but it gets old fast and frustrating and then all the mess gets annoying and then it is a chore to finish and clean up. oy vey. no more schwagaholism for me. fed up.

patentcad 05-06-10 01:13 PM

Without the Schwag, this stupid friggin sport would truly be pointless.

Well, OK, it already is pointless, it would be even more friggin pointless, if you can even imagine that.

hey pcad

the dow just dropped 500 points last 15 mins. smart move putting those stop losses

They all got triggered today. Tough day for us home gamers. Good grief those hedge funds and their programmed trading are out of control. The Dow dipped 1,000 points for a few minutes. Scariest day on the markets I've ever seen. Somebody made a ton of dough today. Not me. But I didn't lose my shirt either.

Rick "Tea Party" Santelli says today's action will raise some interesting questions about high-frequency trading.

Too bad it's not a game you can play at home, kids.

heckler made a bike in a couple of hours. What's your problem?

I'm really not worried about either. The hills keep most of the former away from here and I keep a low profile against the latter.

Cell phone yapping drivers--now that's a different story.

Velo Vol 05-06-10 01:52 PM

Now CNBC is speculating about a trading "error."

Oh brother.

I'll say. That was ridiculous today. They have to curb that or ordinary investors will be afraid to buy stocks.

rjones28 05-06-10 01:54 PM

Yeah, must be a trading error. Markets never act stupid and panicy for any other reason....:innocent:

It took me less than 70 minutes to build up my mountain bike including BB and headset installation. Of course, I do this for a job.

I've never seen the DJIA do that. Not ever. It went from -500 points to -1000 points and then back to -500 points in the span of a few minutes. Even in previous crashes, that never happened. There was a trading error someplace. That's what the talking heads on CNBC are saying. Has to be. It was bizarre. In the end the Dow was off 347 points. A bad day, but not a -1000 point day either.

Don't go there. Cannondale, Specialized, Scott, Cervelo, etc. Lots of good brands. Those Madones are sketchy.
