I like the frame but that Ultegra stuff looks cheap. That bike SCREAMS SRAM and not unlike everything else you own, it would just be a matter of time until you touted the benefits of Sram once you own it. And you are right, 7900 isn't better than your Ultegra. Shimano rushed 7900 cuz Sram is kicking their ass and they refined Ultegra a bit more. The proof of this is that they finally routed the cables under the tape which is something they resisted for 30 years. When it was just Campy and them, they didn't worry. Don't get me wrong, Shimano works great, but I hate that crank. The shifters are cool except for the exposed guts on the underside.
The fact that Rival and Force are both cheaper and lighter than Ultegra says something about Shimano dropping the ball a bit. Red on your Scott would make that bike amazingly light and look a lot better with the paint scheme. Nice weight, but my 9 year old OCLV with Sram Rival weighs the same. Go SRAM and be done with it. Then your cheaper bike will crap all over you Cervelo in all categories.

The only idiot screaming Sram around here is you. And I'm confident have no real accurate notion what anything you own actually weighs. You seem to labor under the profound misapprehension that your silly opinions carry weight here.
You are incorrect.

Velonews gave Ulegra a lukewarm reveiw and Sram Force was their choice above Ultegra and Chorus. I have ridden Shimano until recently and the new Shimano stuff doesn't shift as well as 7800 which I own, but Sram is lighter and cheaper and that isn't opinion but fact. Buy what you want old man, time's a tickin, enjoy your bike while you can.

1.) They stop and we become friends.
2.) They disappear.
3.) They put me on their Ignore List because they're too imbecilic to ignore something that rattles their fragile emotions.
I recommend (1) for you, would prefer (2) and won't be surprised if you resort to (3).

You know slothy, idiots like you show up here about once every six months, and they start pissing contests with me over all kinds of crap. And one of three things eventually happens:
1.) They stop and we become friends.
2.) They disappear.
3.) They put me on their Ignore List because they're too imbecilic to ignore something that rattles their fragile emotions.

Hey, I think the stuff looks great. All the Sram stuff looks cheap to me.
Of course, I labor under the handicap of good esthetic judgement, not a burden for some of the pinheads on BF.

After doing some riding out in CA, I realized that Di2 is the way forward. I really don't care that it's heavier than Red.
Secondly, Ultegra is not more expensive than Force.
Lastly, weight-savings on the bike is overrated.

Welcome to the club. Nice Addict!
BTW, the Ritchey stem should have one spacer above it with carbon stems.

I am actually considering going back (forward) to Shimano at some point. I have 2 bikes with SRAM Red and one with Rival but I realize Di2 is just plain better, functionally. I didn't fully realize the benefits of Di2 when I test rode a bike with it in NYC.
After doing some riding out in CA, I realized that Di2 is the way forward. I really don't care that it's heavier than Red.

Ultegra $1500
Force $1370
I agree that Di2 would be the only Shimano group to "upgrade" from Red. Nothing else makes sense as weight is the barometer for the advancement of cycling components and it doesn't make sense to me to spend more and go heavier when Sram is out there. Poor shifting is consistently the main complaint of 7900 and new Ultegra which is the a major issue for me. Crank is nice and stiff but look horrible.
