Not for nothing, but is this a cycling forum to discuss and debate cycling related things or as I am learning, it is just a forum to stroke some poster's egos and general histrionics. I am getting criticized personally for giving my opinion about certain component groups and frames on a cycling site? Go figure. That is why I guess post counts get up to 30000 because it is more like high school than a cycling forum.
You don't reach numbers like that I guess just talking about products and frames. I get it, but I am not going to lay down when some "veteran" of the board tries to marginalize me when I may or may not have more knowledge about certain topics or may be a stronger rider.
Why do you guys correlate me being new here with my age or experience on the bike and my knowledge base? I have been riding for many years although I am young and put in thousands of miles per year but don't obsess about mileage. I focus on effort, speed and fitness. I know first hand that your Cervelo is and always be more comfortable than any Scott. It is the nature of the engineering. The RS or the TCR and Synapse would be better back ups to your S2 IMO.
I know, you're a shill for pcad, trying to get this thread to twenty pages, right?
If not, are you familiar with the phrase "beating a dead horse"?

[QUOTE=Yaniel;10403426]Funny how you disregard the whole first half of my post which I pose legitimate questions about the dynamics here yet you focus on what you interpret as insecurity on my part. I don't take it serious at all.

Fixed it for ya. BTW, pcad had a histronectomy several years ago.

Just because you've read some reviews that condemn the Addict as too stiff does not mean that's how anyone who buys/rides one will experience the bike. Every rider is different, and I do like stiff bicycles. Again, I can show you many positive reviews for every negative citation you proffer. Your arrogance is in your puzzling need to assert your correctness. That also tells me you're an idiot kid. You'll learn. The hard way.
We all do.
Bible thumpers like yourself marginalize themselves. You don't need any outside help with that.

I am not saying it isn't a nice bike or have its benefits, but Scotts are unforgiving. Ride it and make up your mind as you will, but to have had an aluminum C'dale and go to a carbon frame and say "holy crap" that is harsh, is telling.

As I keep saying and you finally acknowledge, only time and experience with this bike will tell. Listen, when you have a day like I had today, when you're that deep in the hurt locker for over an hour, when you're pushed to your limit the first time on your new bike, none of what I experienced is surprising, the sore back, the disenchantment with the bike, etc. I would have been unhappy with any bike today. It wasn't about the bike. It never really is. I've been doing this for a long time. I've been dropped enough, I've had good days, bad days, etc. You keep going back and you get stronger. That's how it works. I take it all with a major grain of salt.
I'm rolling out @ 6:45 AM for a nice, easy, little ring 20 mile recovery spin. How much you want to bet that I LOVE the bike by tomorrow @ 9AM?

You tell 'em!
Giants are the best for weight, comfort AND stiffness, hands down.
Someday they'll all realize this.

I have a Parlee and an Addict, and did have a Scott CR1 SL. Scotts aren't "unforgiving". And the Addict is not "harsh". It is fast and responsive though.
I'm quite old, and would not like something harsh. A harsh ride would be, well, just harsh.

PCad will rue the day he tries doing 100+ miles in a day on his addict.
He'll be in bed for a week.

Don't insult us engineers by lumping Pcad in with us....he is a art major or some nonsense. He draws pictures.

I often rue the day after the first 100 mile training ride of the late spring/early summer (about the first time of year I get enough daylight to do those rides) and it doesn't seem to matter which bike I'm on.
