This is all useful. How hard was that?

You weren't worth the considerable caloric expenditure necessary to type that last informative post, but since it serves the greater cause of Pcad Svelteness, no harm done. That link I provided to the soft cases is the ticket. Get that one. Nice case. I will eventually go with one of those, but after 20 years of airline travel with my old Athalon case, I'm sticking with that for now. The ladies @ Campmor in Paramus sewed a new shoulder strap on just last year. That bad boy is ready for the Baggage Gorillas of Continental here and in Europe.

At least I learned something at the end, which is unusual for this place.

Don't be silly; might as well get the Bluesmobile, get totally trashed, and drive it through a mall for kicks while you are at it.

Fixed.

It's ironic because at the end of the day I myself am a hard case.

I wonder why BF periodically goes into introspective fred/road nazi angst. Bunch of big babies. All of you.

It's very simple really. The 33 sits above, and sometimes it just oozes down.

rjones28 06-17-10 04:41 PM

So, the last hill on my ride tonight did me in. Not as bad as the last time, but still....

rjones28 06-17-10 04:42 PM

I was actually in questionable shape at the base of the hill, but I HTFU and climbed it anyway.

Yes, but you belong in a softly padded room. Make that we.

As long as our dogs are sane.

Late August promises new Goo.

Cool.

Correct.

So at work I had to build up a Cycleops trainer, the kind that's a whole bike, not one to attach a bike to. Built in powertap with Joule 3 and all. There were 3 of them, all for the same people. I had to ask - who? My school system. My school system just spent $5000 on power meter stationary bikes. What a friggin waste. Is there any need to know watts other than for cycling? We have no cycling team, and I can't see why a football player would need to know his watts, or a baseball player, swimmer, tennis, whatever. Then I got excited - I can go and show up my massive wattage at school next year! Nope. They are for the middle school. Friggin watt measuring trainers for a school with 11-14 year olds. What a let down and a waste.

I never want to hear anybody complain about climbing... I'll take hills any time instead of wind! I also have no interest in going back to Miami, NC is amazing, at least until December. The snowbirds have the right idea.

Velo Vol: I'll just going to skip out on the blue ridge parkway this trip, Going to spend the day with family at Grandfather Mtn and then do a few more group rides over the weekend near Charlotte.

Velo Vol 06-17-10 07:17 PM

Road Nazi Ride.

The good news is that I hung on longer this time and took a few pulls.

The bad news is that I suffered another largely tactical dropping and this time I had 20+ solo miles of shame. Oh well, at least I wasn't fattening up playing video games like you all.

It was 87F at launch off which didn't help.

Near the end I hooked up with three other riders. The guy on the end was a Cervelo Fred. He had tri-bars, a bunch of reflective tape plastered all over, seat water bottles, and he was wearing knee-high black socks. Too bad I didn't get a picture for Pcad to model a new look after.

Stimulus money at its best.

Ride today:
Avg HR: 175 bpm
Max HR: 202 bpm

Is this bad?

I've never been there. That bridge looks interesting. Driving the parkway is nice, too. Not as good as riding it, of course, but very scenic.

No Thursday night drop fest for me tonight. Bike's in the shop to get a new fork and I'm too big of a wuss/hazard to ride the TT bike in a group. Did the circuit solo.

The new ISM Adamo seat on the TT bike seems nice.

Perfect Pcad Riding Conditions. My kind of weather. A bit on the cool side, but you can't have everything.
