Does wanting a titanium bike make one old?

I really want a Moots by the way.

i'm in for any ride between pcads house and maryland if other people would actually show up.

PS I rode with my friend today who is training for a metric (haphazardly with about 6 rides) on a fixed gear. We went 25 miles at 15.5mph...is this what it feels like to be some of you guys on a daily basis?

I was in Steamboat last year and stopped in a bike shop there, Orange Peel Bikes. They had some sweet relationship with Moots that allowed them to build custom Moots frames for customers. Thought that was pretty cool.

That is awesome. ^

I think I'll ride at Hains point tomorrow. Boring.

I've been eyeing titanium bikes since the early 1990s. But, I've never had a big enough bike budget, so oh well....

I think that's Pcad's S2 in the background.

The deck looks much better after the new stain.

No, but having a Ti bike that was new when you idiots were <5 years old does. Pcad, Pcaddette and the Ibis Ti Road, c. 1996.

Note the Scott Drop Ins and the ubiquitous Avocet red computer and those Nuke Proof hubs. The latter detonated on me on a trip to Berlin (Germany) in 2005 and almost killed me (trip to the ER, concussion). Hence my aversion to old bike crap. The Ibis has since been refitted, most recently in 2006, all new components, wheels, fork, etc.

Although today's work day blew monkey tits, calorie lockdown prevented me from drinking beer tonight.

So instead, I had a Johnnie Walker Black.

Then the internets told me that John also has a lot of calories. This is getting complicated.

We need to replace our HVAC..... $5,800.

Just think of all the bike swag I could have procured.

What is this?

It's very similar to calorie lockdown.

Me and Black's brother Blue used to get on quite well. Very nice guy, but liked to spend all my money and was a complete arse in the morning.

Between the furnace, the new central a/c/heat pump and two mini split a/c heat pumps, we shelled out about $20K in HVAC crap here over the past couple of years. But that's for a 4,000 sf house that also has my business in it. The new stuff is great. Way more efficient/effective than what we used to have.
