Pokemon doesn't like it because it's not a Trek.

Is that even worth it?

Not really, but the AC failed, and found out that it had some other issues as well. After we got that crap fixed, the muffler fell off. Literally. It just fell off.

It's not worth it, really, but we can't afford a new car now.

My LBS sells Fuji and Orbea road bikes, so I'll be checking those out this year (if I'm good).

BTW, what's the deal with Fuji and white stems and seat posts?

Some of the Madones we have in stock have them too.

I got to build up a project one the other day, it was nice, but it's no Giant.

Hope you were careful not to put to much torque on the bottom bracket.

Hah, na, I'm careful with them. Especially the project ones that people waited 3 months for.

same tube socks as ever... do you still have the same computer?

Not for nothing, but you have grown into your look. you look kinda creepy in the picture like a gangly 12 year old with that goofy grin in a old body. Now with your demeanor it all fits together and you look very refined.

I was in better shape than you then. Nothing has changed.

I have eschewed the tube socks however. Now it's cycling socks.

I say everyone who actively participates in this thread should meet up for a group ride. We have to meet in some obscure location, where hopefully the paparazzi will not find us.

There are some mountains nearby that would do the trick. I say we go for a Darwin Challenge on one of these 93F days. First person to the top doesn't have to read this thread anymore.

BYOP (bring your own paramedics).

I do not recall where I was when I heard Michael Jackson was dead. Didn't leave that big of an impression.

Sorry.

JFK - walking into the living room from outside, seeing my mom sitting in front of the TV with absolute focus.

John Lennon - working on a car with a friend listening to rock radio.

Challenger - on the radio while getting ready for work.

MJ - car radio while eating a Subway sandwich in a shopping plaza parking lot. Didn't put a dent in my appetite at all.

mzeffex 06-22-10 09:49 PM

JFK - Not born yet.

John Lennon - Not born yet..

Challenger - Still not born yet....

MJ - Work, I just got pizza. I ate and enjoyed it.

patentcad 06-22-10 09:52 PM

JFK - in the library of Woodrow Wilson Elementary School in Weehawken, NJ. We were in 1st Grade. We could tell it was a big deal because all the grown-ups were in utter shock.

J. Lennon - Watching Monday Night Football and H. Cosell told America Lennon was dead.

Challenger - getting ready to leave my bosses' ski house in Aspen CO, I couldn't believe they were talking about the Space Shuttle friggin exploding.

MJ - can't recall.

It actually didn't explode. It disintegrated.

JFK - I may have sh*t my pants. Don't remember, because I was 11 mos. old.
Lennon - On the news at my parents' house - high school.
Challenger - At work.
9/11 - Sitting at my desk in an office outside Philly. My wife was driving towards DC.
Jackson - ? Probably via a WSJ.com email alert.

John Lennon - Unknown -

Challenger - Heard it on the news... Didn't really affect me except was a topic at school

MJ - Spotted it on the news, Was a kind of bummer , But didn't slow me down.

9/11 - I was in 7?th grade in English class, Someone came in the middle of class with a TV , I was like WTF? WTF are the WTC's? then watching the news for 3 hours, followed by a early dismissal.

You said you heard about the Challenger on the news but you were in 7th grade on 9/11? That doesn't work. That would mean that you were 15 in 7th grade.

Maybe for you that does work actually.

Mind you that is if you heard it on the news when you were a new born, which doesn't make any sense.

Velo Vol 06-22-10 10:36 PM

JFK - Not born

J. Lennon - Young, wasn't aware of it

Challenger - I was home from school due to the weather. Recall that it was cold in Florida (causing the failure); it was even colder (and snowier) here. I remember first hearing about an explosion on the shuttle on the radio. I initially imagined it being a minor incident in the payload bay or something. I was wrong.

M.J. - I first got word of him going to the hospital via Twitter (a pretty good source for flash news). Later TMZ (I believe) said he was dead. Major news outlets followed an hour or so later.

Aren't you 18?
You certainly weren't alive for Lennon, or Challenger(do you mean Columbia?). If you are 18 that would make you in 4th or 5th grade for 9/11.
