Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I was loyal to the GP3000s and 4000s. Loyalty is important, so I never considered a different tire because the Contis performed so well.

Then a buddy gave me the Pro3s. Incredible. They're fast like the 4000s, excellent in the rain, and the flat protection has been spectacular. The same result on both bikes.

I have no interest in Crits. Was my thing (was the only thing going on) 20 years ago. The ground seems harder now.

well, maybe a little interest, but only if I could get dropped quickly and ride safely by myself. Shouldn't be to hard.

Good to hear. I've been riding Vittorias of various flavors so these will be new for me. The group ride guys seem to like the Pro3s.

There are, of course, exceptions. I have the body for the 33, but I choose to mingle with the common cyclists in the 41.

It's now 11:18 PM EDT. I just watched the Versus TdF wrap-up on Versus. You know what that means for your Uncle Pcad.

Time to crash.

Does anyone here ride for Squadra Coppi?

As seen in the left side of the above photo in the blue kit.

Saw my third downed rider of the season this morning, though one of the others was just two days ago. Not sure if he got rear ended by a car or just curbed and flipped, but I came up on him shortly after. A runner said he went flying, but I didn't see a car still there. Always spooky to see a downed rider surrounded by flashing lights. Cut my ride 45 minutes short or so.

Hey Pcad,

Are you going to see the Queen today?

coasting says it's the thrill of a lifetime if she graces you with her royal presence.

I think it's funny that there are kids with training wheels in that "race".
