My new custom geometry Fred-roller was finished last night. I post it so you can feel better about your actual bikes.

The ladies tell me my head tube is "huge."

coasting 07-08-10 10:30 AM

holy crap. the ladies aren't wrong. how tall are you?

TheOtherZach 07-08-10 10:35 AM

6 foot with a 92cm inseam. Oh, short arms too. This is the first bike I've been able to ride for more than 20 miles without agony.

coasting 07-08-10 10:37 AM

TheOtherZach 07-08-10 10:46 AM

Dude, you need to be pulling when you get to the first big hill.

Tall mofo.

TheOtherZach 07-08-10 11:57 AM

6 foot even, not that tall.

It's well known that the t-Rex was a monster on the flats but got dropped on the hills.

Someone explain this: How come on the Road Nazi ride--for the brief time I last--it seems I can't get my speed right? I try to maintain a steady effort and anticipate the pace, but I keep having to tap my brakes when I'm up close. Yesterday I was focusing on not having to brake, yet I still couldn't avoid it.

You blew it. This was your chance to become a true road nazi, and you failed to recognise the moment. You should have done what all true road nazi's do in this situation..... Blame the clown doing the pulling for not holding his speed constant and Yelled at him. To become a road nazi you must first learn to think like one.

You are in denial, you know too that deep down within yourself you are jelous, you are suffering from climbers envy. You are not ready. One day you will embrace the suck and climb the mountain within, it is inevitable. eat all the peanutbutter you want, it cant help you.

To the pro-platform pedal crowd that says that you're not really doing any work on the upstroke with clipless shoes/pedals, my goddamn sore hamstrings disagree with you.

Too big a group to blame one person, or even yell to the front, for that matter.

It's 98F outside.

I didnt say it had to be accurate vol. just deflecting the blame. Work with me here.
YOU, are the road nazi. Certainly it couldnt be YOUR fault. You are still failing to grasp the concept, or the sarcasm.

Its 102 here,( acourding to the local high schoolsign) and going to storm. I feel your pain, but, I am still going riding. eff it, and me.

It goes without saying that we, here, posting in and reading the 41 Addiction thread, all suck as cyclists, right? It's true! The proof is out there on the road - You see him all the time, the roadie who passes you effortlessly no matter if the road is flat or positively angled. He's not only fast, but looks good doing it, and never seems as though much effort is being expended. It just seems so impossible to achieve that level of cycling performance. So what's the difference between the two of you? You can start with the fact that he's not reading and posting in Bike Forums! There, I said it.

It's maybe 78 here.

Edit; after examining the chain more thouroughly one of the side plates came off one of the pins. wtf. so I am not the monster I thought I was. Damnit! more work to do.. stupid chain.

Road Nazis were faster than me before this thread even existed.

I actually don't often get passed by effortless riders. Heck, unless I'm riding on certain roads I don't see many riders, period.

From the Road Nazi ride I know faster riders are out there--I just hardly ever see them riding solo.

I've wondered where they hide.
